Intermitant Interlacing Effects

Postby xnamkcor » Sat Mar 03, 2007 2:24 pm

I have captured NTSC video from an interlaced source, but it's going at half speed by doubling every frame.
It looks fine(there is a timer with milliseconds), each frame has a single number...and then bam, the numbers start overlaping from previous frames. It goes on and off in different parts of the video. Is there a way to fix this?

It's hard to say without seeing a sample.

Do you hate the msu codec? If so, what codec do you prefer I use? I am using VDM. Lagarith seems popular, I have that.

Yea Lagarith works good. Maybe a 5-10 second clip showing the problem.

2.5 seconds enough?

it was 110MB(too much for rapidshare) when it was 5 seconds.

I tried encoding the same amount of frames from the original capture with Lagarith, and it's a 500MB file.

On a note not mentioned here(like every other of my posts, Zarx mentioned the background is interlaced. That is because it is a "JumboVision"esque thing. It's probably just an in-game effect to double up on the interlacing to make it obvious on a signal that is already interlaced itself.

I found out that when the screen shakes in game it triggers the interlacing effect.
