DVD won't convert?

Postby Hagaren Viper » Fri Feb 09, 2007 8:03 pm

It's odd. I bought a DVD recently, and ripped it like any other DVD. But when I tried to put it through AVIsynth(I beleive that's the name?), it just refuses to finish. It will start, go through one program (The one it goes through before VirtualDub) and then just stop like it's finished. There isn't even an infinished AVI, just nothing. I DID try another DVD, and that did work. Sooo, is it just the dvd? Is there anything I can do?

It's probably the DVD, but without more specifics, it's hard to say exactly what went wrong and how to fix it.

What DVD are you trying to rip?
What DVD ripper program are you using and what settings are you ripping with?
After the DVD is ripped to your hard drive, do the VOBs play correctly?
Are you using DGIndex or something older? (DVD2AVI?)

Digimon The Movie.

DVDecrypter, don't think there are really any settings to change?

Like a charm.

That I can't check right now, I'll get back to ya.

So DGIndex doesn't finish processing the VOBs? And did you load all the VOBs (there should be about 4 if DVD Decrypter is splitting them like it should by default)?

Try re-ripping the DVDs in File mode if you ripped them in IFO mode the first time. Or vice versa.

lately I've been running into stranger and stranger disks.
For instance, the eva platinum disks, the biggest vobs (I use file mode) didn't contain the entire episode. IIRC one disk (4 episodes) was split up across 8 non-consecutive vobs.

if there are other smaller vobs (like around 300,000 or 400,000 bytes) close to the "big" (~1GB) vobs, you should try ripping those as well (you might get some extras, or the clean op/ed, but you can enxclude them from dgindex once you find them)

Oi, sorry about the non-responsiveness..... To tell the truth, I haven't had the time to mess with DVD ripping at all. Sooo, maybe I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
