I have the script in a different folder, and yes I put in the entire path. Correctly. I double-checked.

You should be able to open mp4 files in virtualdub or virtualdub mod with avisynth like Szwagier said.
There was someone else in another thread that was also wanting to convert mp4 files and it looks like she got them to work.

I already tested and it's not working the vdub say:
Haali Media Splitter Error

Error: Can't open file: The system cannot find the file specified.

after this error from Haali Splitter

VirtualDub Error

Avisynth open failure:
Directshowsource: Couldn't open as video or audio.

Video returned: "DirectShowSource: counldn't open file C:\(My Path folder)\(My video file).mp4:
The system cannot find the file specified."

Audio returned: ""DirectShowSource: counldn't open file C:\(My Path folder)\(My video file).mp4:
The system cannot find the file specified."

(C:\Documents and Settigns\Owner\My Documents\13.avs, line 1)
this what I get from vdub/mod and I already read that thread Moonie. I did follow you and willen what been told to her but still no luck.

Well you can try putting them in the same folder then :< Cuz afaik that error message appears only when vdub for some reason cannot locate the file... If it still doesn't open, then i don't have any idea why :<

Well there has been some success...

I've benn talking to Black_Pearl_Rainne in pm about the problem
When he uses Avisynth now, Avisynth locates the file but it still can't read the mp4 for some reason.
It says
Code: Select all
Haali Splitter ERROR (say):  Error: Can't open file: Unsprecified error   [2x  it was say to click ok]

then vdub error:

Avisynth open failure:
Directshowsource: couldn't open as video or audio.

Video returned: "directshowsource: couldn't open file [nf] oengai teacher dvdrip 13 + [h264+aac] [715b992E].mp4:
Unspecified error"

Audio returned: "directshowsource: couldn't open file [nf] oengai teacher dvdrip 13 + [h264+aac] [715b992E].mp4:
Unspecified error"

(c:\[nf] onegai teacher dvdrip 01-13 + Extras + Music Collection [h264+aac]\onegai13.avs, line 1)

Something must not be configured right
I can't think of any reason why its not working now.
He is trying to open an Onegai Teacher episode in mp4 and
He says he has CCCP installed and done like it says in the other thread.
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=75677
He aslo said the mp4 file didn't play in windows media player though

Thought id post the latest info here so someone else can help with this now.
