AviSynth open failure?

Postby CrackTheSky » Sun Dec 17, 2006 7:07 pm

I'm getting an error message when I try to open my AviSynth script in VirtualDubMod:

"AviSynth open failure:
MPEG2Source: DGIndex/DGDecode mismatch. You are picking up a version of DGDecode, possibly from your plugins directory, that does not match the version of DGIndex used to make the D2V file. Search your hard disk for all copies of DGDecode.dll and delete or rename all of them except for the one that has the same version number as the DGIndex.exe that was used to make the D2V file."

My AviSynth script is as follows:

mpeg2source("E:\Love Hina Again\d2v\1.d2v")

I tried renaming DGDecode.dll file, but that did nothing. Any ideas?

you did use DGIndex to make your d2v right?
if you used dvd2avi you have to use mpeg2dec3.dll instead of dgdecode.dll

the two of them (DGIndex and DGdecode.dll) come together...so there shouldn't be any version mismatching...but as a precaution you may want to go ahead and get the latest version of the two and re-install (unistalling all instances of dgindex and dgdeocd first)

Ahhh...getting the new version of DGIndex worked...

I'm confused though, because I don't recall ever getting a newer version of DGDecode.dll, meaning that I've always had the version I had now, meaning I got it from the AMVapp, meaning that the AMVapp might have mismatched DGIndex/DGDecode versions. Although you never know; I might have downloaded a newer version somewhere along the way :/ Never had this problem 'til now though...

Anyway, thanks a bunch Kariudo. I appreciate it ^_^
