angelstarfire_hikarist wrote:But would anyone be willing to send me the ISO for FFX-2 over a messenger service? I own the game, but it has too many scratches on it, and DVD Decrypter comes up with a bunch of read errors because of it. I had all the videos on my computer at one point, but the HD crashed, leaving me video and ISO-less.
Please PM me about this - and mods, don't delete this post. I own the game, and having a backup of the game is perfectly legal, even if I was unable to do it myself.
Thank you.

No, it's not. You need to check the laws again, and the forum rules again. You aren't supposed to ask for that sort of thing here, and ripping games is illegal, not to mention distributing them. Whether you own(ed) it or not is irrelevant.

Take better care of your games.

Actually it's perfectly legal... the same as it is to own a digital copy of any DVD you own - it's the software programs that get around the copy-protection on the DVDs and Games that is illegal. There is no protection on my copy of FFX-2, which means if I could successfully copy it to my HD, I would be rightfully and legally able to do so.

Ripping games and DVDs period is illegal, reguardless of what software/methods you use. Not that that's really relevant on this site since AMVs in general are illegal, but even still. Moral and legal are not the same thing.
What is relevant is that you're asking for someone to send you an ISO of a game, and that's against this forum's rules. It's a bannable offense that luckily, for you, isn't really enforced.
Go find your own software stealing methods.
