How to rip footage from a DVD?

Post by NellyEdits » Mon May 21, 2012 3:10 pm

I bought the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann DVD, hoping to watch the complete series (which I did). And hoping to rip the footage and use it for an AMV.
I have done some research on ripping footage, but I can honestly say that I'm completely lost.
In all my five years of editing AMV's, I've never ripped a DVD. And I'm completely confused on how to do it.
It would be a great help if someone can provide me steps on the process, Thank you!

Have you Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides Lovingly Overhauled Largely by Zarxrax?

If not, you should (and read the whole thing too). Though some of the information may not be completely correct, it's still good for learning the general processes.
