Compression in MAC

Post by Kairih » Sun Jan 15, 2012 4:10 am

Hi guys. I actually have a Mac but I'm having some problems for the compression. I found only .exe of ZarxGui264 so I can't use it here... :(
So, I've found MPEG StreamClip to compress my video... But still, they're not "amazing" quality for poor dimensions.
I actually use Premiere + After Effects....
Adobe Media Encoder don't solve anything since, as I've said, I can't have the same quality for poor dimension...

So, for Mac users, what do you use to compress your videos?

x264 works fine in OSX. Zarx uses it internally. Read some manuals.

Zarx's app isn't an encoder really. It's just a graphics interface to a commandline program called x264, which you can use directly if you know how to use a command prompt. Basically, the commands that Zarx runs, you can do on your own by hand on your mac. May need homebrew to install x264 if you aren't gonna build it yourself.

Mmhhh, I see :) But it seems quite complicated to do! I'm gonna try it out, but I don't think I'll succeed xD Thank you anyway ^^
