Please note that in the latest x264 (which you might not have) --fullrange does not exist anymore and --range and --input-range have been introduced.
--input-range is auto by default, and can also be set to either TV or PC.
--range is TV by default, and can also be set to PC.
Rest of the suggestions in that thread should work.
