Nevermind, I was mistaken. Turns out that the PAL audio is shorter than the NTSC audio. Then I guess my question changes: is it better for the sound quality to slow down the short one (PAL audio) or to speed up the long one (NTSC one)? (even applying pitch correction, with which will be less distortion you can appreciate?)
When I synchro I usually slow down the PAL audio to match the film video and audio (converted from NTSC) but I know people who convert the NTSC video to film and then to PAL, so speeds up the NTSC track. Which option is better?
Also, if you wouldn't mind I'm rather curious about some other things:
- Is there any video distortion (frames, etc.) you can appreciate if you convert from film to PAL?
- When you convert from film to PAL because you want to synchro it with the PAL audio - I know there's no PAL for audio but so you understand - is it better to speed up the NTSC video to PAL or to telecine it?
- Also I'm curious to know which filter you can use to telecine.
Thank you for your time!
