.mkv to .vob for DGIndex?

I have a source in mkv that I would like to convert to a vob file. This way I can import it into DGIndex to make a d2v file and import that into Vdub (I tried importing the mkv into vdub and it won't take it) to create an avisynth script.

Is this even possible, or am I just causing a needless headache?

With avisynth, use ffvideosource() to load your mkv

if you don't have FFMS2, grab it from here.
The link is to the 32-bit non-mt version, which I'm guessing is the one you can use
