XviD4PSP 5.0

I've been toying around with this and I quite like it. The only problem is, with .mkv files, when I convert it keeps the subtitles. Anybody know an option in the program to get rid of them?

Afaik that program just makes an avs script for you and then converts it with mencoder or something like that.
That probably means that if you can change the avs so that it loads the video with FFVideoSource instead of DirectShowSource or whatever it's using right now, you'll be fine.
Note that to use FFVideoSource you'll need the ffms2 plugin for avisynth: http://code.google.com/p/ffmpegsource/downloads/list

PS: I'd personally suggest you to use avisynth + virtualdub directly, though...

I'm one of those people who tried the guide but eventually crumbled under it's immense size. I know I should go back and read through the whole thing and try step by step but it's quite daunting. So until I get the will to do so, I use various other programs like Total video converter and this one because I still want to edit in the meantime.

I use Xvid4PSP for a lot of renders, and when I want to render a MKV file that has softsubs I use mkvtoolnix-unicode-2.1.0 to remove the subs, audio and whatever else I don't need and then there is no problem.

2.1.0? Holy shit, what is this, 2005? 3.4.0 or if you don't mind fiddling with header compression, the latest 4.6.0. Also, XViD4PSP is just a VFW link IIRC, so if you disable subtitles in your dshow or VFW settings, it will magically work. Just right click the splitter icon and uncheck subtitles. If it does what mirko said via avs, then just tweak the base template, but I doubt that is the case.
