Ripping help

Postby NikiaMelody » Sun Nov 07, 2010 10:33 pm

Hello, everyone.
I've been creating amv's and gmv's for only a little while and haven't created that many, but I find myself at a lose for right now. I've been relying on anime download sites and youtube for most of my clips, which I know is against the tos of this site. So a couple of days ago after trying site after site, trying to find the anime I'm looking for without subtitles without any luck, I decided to rip the footage from the dvd's I own.

I tried the avisynth thingy and it messed up windows media player and vlc to the point where I could not watch videos anymore. So I need major help figuring out what went wrong.

Considering VLC uses its own internal filters and is completely unrelated to the rest of the direct show and video for windows frameworks as it just uses ffmpeg, I doubt installing avisynth could have messed up something with it.
In any case, for proper video playback, install the CCCP and use the Media Player Classic Home Cinema that comes with it to open videos.

Okay. That worked, but I still don't understand why it messed up in the first place.

Sorry if double posting isn't allowed. I reinstalled avisynth and it works just fine now. Where can I find the tutorial to use it?
