I understand your point and desire to see a "Linkinball" video that strays from the norm, but unfortunately, I'm not so sure I (personally) agree with your idea.
Scenes of characters "powering up" is well and fine if you match it up with something appropriate. However, focusing an ENTIRE video around this... isn't something I imagine can be done. If you're going to do a video properly, you're going to want to follow the lyrics at least SOME amount, be it literally or metaphorically. Simple scenes of characters standing around groaning doesn't seem to fit with any of the lyrics that *I* can think of from any Linkin Park songs.
I don't think there's a problem at all, in theory, with people doing Linkin Park videos. Even if it's been done before. Even if it's the same song. If it's done well, it's done well; if it's not done well, it's not done well. The originality of the idea may prove to be a little stale, but hey... a good video is a good video. :D
