If you don't know who Dewey Cox is, I'll help you out:
Dewford Randolph Cox (b 1936 in Springberry, Alabama, d 2007) better known as Dewey Cox was a famous musical icon. His first single Walk Hard became a #1 hit just 30 minutes after it was recorded. Cox had also found success with other singles such as Let's Duet (a duet with his future wife Darlene Madison-Cox) and Guilty As Charged. In the mid 60's, he recorded the song Let Me Hold You (Little Man). Little Man became the anthem of the midget rights activist movement, Towards the late 60's, Cox's popularity started to decline, followed by writer's block, and a failed variety show on CBS, Cox decided to give up his fame and spend time with his children, most of whom he had seen for the first time ever when he met them. In 2007, a tribute concert for Cox featuring Jewel, Lyle Lovett, Jackson Browne, Ghostface Killah and Eddie Vedder was staged which received rave reviews, and for the show's finale, Cox performed the first song he had written in more than 3 decades called Beautiful Ride. Cox performance received praise from fans and critics alike. Sadly, Cox passed away just 3 minutes after the legendary performance. Cox's music lives on in the hearts of many music fans young and old. He's had an influence on several legendary artists including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Randy Travis, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Billy Idol, Kiss, Green Day, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, and several others. Cox was portrayed by actor John C. Reilly in the film Walk Hard, released shortly after Cox's death.
I crack myself up!
So yeah, anybody ever think of making any Dewey Cox AMVs? Are there any in existence already?
