My roomate tells me that Lain is very slow to pick up
The sword, it thirsts to drink of man,
The sword at last must win,
Today is gone, and yesterday,
Must echo in the wind.

No, in Lain's case one's brain is a little slow to pick up on it.

and my recomendation for Slow, the third Kenshin arc, (after Kyoto). It starts out slow and just gets slower...

Yay! DBZ is really hell slow! I mean, they talk 5 eps about a guy, and then 5 episodes they power up, only to fight with the villian for another 20 eps, and then again they talk about him...

But anyway, DBZ is 294 episodes, not 270... which makes it even more slower...

Peace out,

The One OVA.

Four 26-minute episodes of Nothing Ever Fucking Happens God Damn It.

However, this is basically piling on AD's comments about To Heart. ANY series based on a dating sim/visual novel, such as also Kanon, or looking as though it was based on such, like Boys Be..., will also have long stretches of Nothing Happening Damnit. Such titles stand on emotion, not plot, but there's only so many times that you can stay interested in cuts of this or that character staring dramatically into space.

Also, though it will pain iserlohn if he's listening, Legend of Galactic Heroes is another long series with a serious case of Nothing Going On. Work from the first 13 episodes or so if you can do it without killing yourself; it gets markedly more interesting after that, and you don't want that for this project.

Well, In my expirence buying almost useless anime because I cannot rent them first and have to rely on how good the animation loos and reading the back, I have quite a few remarkably boring anime for you to choose from. Most of them are either movies or OVAs that only have 3-4 episodes, so it'd be pretty easy to work with. Here we have:

"Earthian"(this is a yoai, so don't use the episode where they're in bed unless you REALLY need to, because it was pointless.)
"Black Jack"(really interesting plot, but it goes nowhere)
"Petshop of Horrors"
and
"Nightwalker: Eternal Darkness"(The 2nd DVD)[Good god that was so boring. . . The first DVD was great, though]

IMO, I think you should use "Black Jack" it has one of the coolest plots, it's just that the carrying out of the plot was so horrible that it was a chore just to sit there and watch it. However, it has some neat scenes of people's heads and hearts blowing up and blood going across four walls, and lots of people like surgical gore in a video ; ).

But if you want the most boring anime ever and want to TRY to spruce it up, go for "Nightwalker: Eternal Darkness" Good luck to you, with that one.

Ah, forgot one.

"Sonic the Hedgehod: The Movie" although 'the movie' is what they call it here in America, it's really just to episodes mashed together that seemed interesting and they made it a 'movie' Don't bother looking in the anime section for this one, people. I tried, and got lost. It's in the All Mighty "family" section.

I liked the movie, but that's only because I'm a fan of a cute red echidna. HOwever, I'm not afraid to admit that it was horribly pointless and had some odd jokes. The english rendition of "metal Sonic" at the end was so bad it made me laugh my guts out. Have fun with that one, as well.

"Sonic: The HedghoG: The movie"

This gives me a good excuse for what comes next.

DON'T LET THE AVATAR FOOL YOU!!!!

The movie was horribly pointless. (Ah, Good repition. Rub it into his brain) Not to mention everyone that VO'd the movie in english had fake western accents.
