Yeah...I've got WMVs onto Angelfire with no problem (they did, however, sack my RM file vid...not that it's a big loss since it's been pulled for retooling anyway)

Then Maybe you can enter it into our contest(go to link below)

Yeah, i will. Im in the process of makin some now, just for some reason i cant get it to export in widescreen format. It PREVIEWS in widescreen, but it wont fuckin EXPORT in widescreen, and ive followed tutorials aswell!! help, please somebody!!!

Anyways, as soon as im done makin one ill post it to u. How long have i got?

...if your source is not widescreen, don't USE widescreen, moron. If your source is 4:3 aspect, use the good ole 640x480 or 720x480 and export to whatever resolution is in that aspect ratio (180x90, 352x240, 640x480, 720x480)

If your source is widescreen, it's generally going to be something like 656x424 or some crap like that. If it's Anamorphic widescreen, it will be 720x480, but you have to correct the aspect ratio first. To do this, load the file into AVISynth and do "LanczosResize(720, 360)" (Without the quotes) and it will convert that one movie/ep/whatever into the standard res when you fix an anamorphic source. Then you edit in whatever resolution your source is.

On the subject of RM and WMV fights, I think WMV is supeior. First of all, Windows Media Player comes with Windows. Realplayer does not. Realplayer sucks ass and takes control of nearly all your video file formats, so they all play in Realplayer (RM, AVI, MPG/MPEG, etc.)
Second of all, WMV is superior because the audio and video quality doesn't suck ass like Realplayer does. I once made a video and compressed it in WMV for 56kers, it was around 5MB with a video bitrate of around 300kbps or so and audio at 128 WMV1. It was a 3 minute 32 second video.

Just use MPEG/MPG or AVI. In the AVI department, I'd suggest using XviD or DivX for videos. If you want to use an MPEG format, go with MPEG-1.

Some of the Realplayer 9 videos look really good for their size, and Realplayer only takes over your file formats if you're stupid enough to let it. Simple checkboxes ensure they remain intact.

Whilst I still have 56k, I still always download the larger file formats, its ALWAYS worth it, no matter how good WMV/RM gets.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The last time I has RealPlayer, I did check off the file associations I didn't want it to have, but it was like the program wouldn't take no for an answer. It kept asking me if I wanted to associate certain file formats with RealPlayer.

It didn't take long for me to get tired of the damn thing and flush it down the toilet with the other turds.

If only it were as painless to use as Windows Media Player, or there were a dependable third-party player that could handle .rm files.

Well, EO Video can. It will also convert any video file format into AVI or MPEG, also, but for 30 days. The player is free forever. Download EO Video and you can play any video format (With the right codecs, of course) in the Player.

I must admit I had to get a new laptop before it would play comfortably. :? I just happen to have a few RM MVs so its handy to have them all in one playlist.

Most video editing proggies let you incode directly into divX...

Okay. I'll give it a try. Hey, is this that thread with the snobby guy who makes DBZ videos in two hours?

Indeed it is. However, I wouldn't like that term "Snobby guy who makes music videos in two hours". . . I make AMVs in two hours, and they turn out well. . . .

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going to say...

The only Linkin Park video that is even good, is the one with Cowboy Bebop.

Also, I think Doki Doki'd hybrid theory video is bad... It could've been funny, but, no... It's better than DBZ, though!
