dude...WMV sucks?....hahhahha....My friend sent me a WMV video that he made....The fact that it was DBZ and linkin park doesn't matter at this point but the quality was excellent....A 3:50 minute video brought down to 16 megs at 352 by 240 resolution...Quality was GOOD and it even looked good full screen...Audio had that sound that annoys me in WMV though but that's just the compression format....

Why am I trying to argue with someone who steals footage from other peoples videos?....Bah...ohhh well...

Rozard: the NeoGohan video I got was a well-edited DBZ video. It wasn't anything spectacular--that is to say, it was a perfectly competent AMV, but nothing about it made it stand out. For a garden-variety DBZ video, it was quite good.

---

Again, regarding .rm files--I don't want to get Real Player because the software is spastic. I have never had much success using the program, as it is too invasive and freezes far too often if it isn't handled like a weak kitten.

I have has no such problems with WMV, and find it to be a good deal more forgiving and versatile than .rm files.

At best, we must agree to disagree on this because I have no intention of going out of my way to get Real Player (its being free is not the issue--colds and flu are free and I don't want them either) and you have no intention of switching to a more accepted format, even if it means fewer people care about the videos you continue pimping.

Somethings wrong with your pc if RealPlayer messes up on it. try getting RealPlayer 8 BASIC not RealPlayer ONE. My computer sucks ass, it is slow and I almost never have any problems playing movies in RealMedia.

Alright... Here's your problem ssj2... You use only clips and stuff you fin online right? So the stuff you use is already encoded in specific file formats. Thus, the quality of your vids cannot be any better than that of the original clips you use. You have no grasp of what works for quality and what doesn't until you rip your own materials.

Alrighty. This has almost absolutely nothing to do with this basic subject of DBZ AMVs. It has to do with RealMedia files and why almost every noob here uses them(including me).

First, I'd like to set a common misconception straight: Real Player is NOT free. You give real.com your credit card number, and if you use their ware for more then 30 days, they start chargin' you.

Second, the reason why almost all noobs use .rm(including me):
Real media files are the ONLY, I repeat, ONLY file formats that are allowed to be uploaded and kept on a FREE server(such as tripod). If you upload an .avi or .wmv the server will automatically disable your account and say that you've violated their terms and conditions. THAT is the ONLY reason I use real player. I don't have the money to keep up a site just for AMVs.

The second misconception about Realplayer: "real player sucks". "real player rules" "amv sucks" "amv kicks ass". Truth to tell, I have completely NO idea why this happens, but it does. It's different for every computer. On my family computer, Real player freezes some of the time, but the quality of the video/audio on it kicks ass. Windows media player doesn't freeze at all, but the video/audio is so-so. On my work computer however, it's the complete opposite. My brother's computer, real player freezes all the time and sucks ass. I've tried three different computers with the SAME AMV and have gotten different results on the quality each time. So the best thing to do here is expirement.

This concludes my post about real media.
In other words, all of you are right. It sucks, it rules, ladi da.

You could always .ZIP or otherwise compress those files as well, or change the file extension.

I currently have about 10 MBs of wmv files on my Angelfire account. They've been there for about 6 months. My account has had no problems.
