Alrighty. This has almost absolutely nothing to do with this basic subject of DBZ AMVs. It has to do with RealMedia files and why almost every noob here uses them(including me).
First, I'd like to set a common misconception straight: Real Player is NOT free. You give real.com your credit card number, and if you use their ware for more then 30 days, they start chargin' you.
Second, the reason why almost all noobs use .rm(including me):
Real media files are the ONLY, I repeat, ONLY file formats that are allowed to be uploaded and kept on a FREE server(such as tripod). If you upload an .avi or .wmv the server will automatically disable your account and say that you've violated their terms and conditions. THAT is the ONLY reason I use real player. I don't have the money to keep up a site just for AMVs.
The second misconception about Realplayer: "real player sucks". "real player rules" "amv sucks" "amv kicks ass". Truth to tell, I have completely NO idea why this happens, but it does. It's different for every computer. On my family computer, Real player freezes some of the time, but the quality of the video/audio on it kicks ass. Windows media player doesn't freeze at all, but the video/audio is so-so. On my work computer however, it's the complete opposite. My brother's computer, real player freezes all the time and sucks ass. I've tried three different computers with the SAME AMV and have gotten different results on the quality each time. So the best thing to do here is expirement.
This concludes my post about real media.
In other words, all of you are right. It sucks, it rules, ladi da.
