I Need an Opinion Please! =)

Postby Edo » Fri Oct 18, 2002 10:49 pm

Well it has been awhile since I last posted; ever since I got bitch smacked by Ermac, which he will regret soon. Anyway...LOL

Well here I am turning a new leaf. I am a CG artist and I was wondering if this idea is a good one.

I am planning to make an AMV from SCRATH!!! Yes you heard me, right down to drawing the characters by hand and animating them! The only thing I will not create on my own will be the song. (I'm holding my new song for my next video if this one turns out ok.)

I have the scenes and the plot figured out, but I figured I would let the public choose what the character should look like from my selection of drawings. They will also choose what song as well, on the side there will be a recommendation of a different song that I might have not listed in the selection.

There will be a voting bar in my site that will be open for 2 months. (Unless you think it should take longer.) My site has not been launched yet but will late December.

So I was thinking what is your opinion on this? Should I do this or make my own with out the public’s opinion? I expect this project to take along time due to the lack of equipment at my exposal.

Please let me know, and if you think this is a stupid idea let me know. Just keep the insults to a low. Okay. Still healing from the last fight, yah know.

certainly not a stupid idea, but deffinently difficult. If you go through with this I will look forward to it with much anticipation. You could take AMV fandom to a whole new level.

One question for you though, via what media will you produce it i.e. if on the computer what program, or will it be the good ol' paper method.

Basically it will be done hand drawn at first of the characters at different angles. Then scanned and placed onto Illustrator. Once completely animated, it will be exported into after effects, then into Premiere. I might use some 3d effects with Maya 4.0 if it looks good.

That was my watered down explanation for you people out there.

Ah yes, a complicated method but a sound one which should reap you a quallity product. Please post a link to your website once you have it up, I would be very pleased to follow your progress on a project like this.

Wow. That idea sounds like it would be very interesting. I, too, would love to see what becomes of this idea.

Best of luck with it.

I say go for it. This will be very time consuming but I think it would be a very interesting project to see upon its completion. God's speed to you.

Sounds like a lot of work. I'll be sure to download it when it's out, as I appreciate people who put a lot of time and effort into their videos. Good luck!

Hey Edo,

Really sweet idea, although as previous respones have stated, it will be a difficult idea to follow through. Yeah, like the rest of the respones, I back your idea and will download, when you have finished it.

Good Luck with it

Yah, it will be hard

Postby Edo » Sat Oct 26, 2002 3:15 pm

Yes true it will be hard.

About 2 days ago I started to find a new college in pure animation where I could have better resources and equi[ment. I was talking to my visual Design teacher and is going to help me out. So if this all works well I might be able to finish the project sooner!!

Well there's one udpdate!!!

Cool!!

yea I was thinking of makeing a mod with anime character designs, mostly cuz I've never seen an anime character jam out and that'd just be soooo cool!! I know there's like a quakemovies.com or something like that that'd help a dunce like me do it, Ed0'd have a huge head start though as a cg guy ;-p.
