A parody on an overdone concept

Postby Heero_Yuy84 » Mon Apr 07, 2003 12:19 am

From what I've been seeing around the board, a lot of people feel that the concept of a DBZ vid (this alone) as a profile on Gohan (this in particular) is a 'done-to-death' sort of concept...so I did some thinking and decided why not try to make fun of it...so, running this one past you guys to see what you think

Anime: Dragonball Z
Title: Gohan Tribute #43843 (or A Boy Called Gohan)
Song: 'Brian Song' from Monty Python

Lyrics:
Brian. The babe they called 'Brian',
He grew,... grew, grew, and grew--
Grew up to be-- grew up to be
A boy called 'Brian'--
A boy called 'Brian'.
He had arms... and legs... and hands... and feet,
This boy... whose name was 'Brian',
And he grew,... grew, grew, and grew--
Grew up to be--
Yes, he grew up to be
A teenager called 'Brian'--
A teenager called 'Brian',
And his face became spotty.
Yes, his face became spotty,
And his voice dropped down low
And things started to grow
On young Brian and show
He was certainly no--
No girl named 'Brian',
Not a girl named 'Brian'.

And he started to shave
And have one off the wrist
And want to see girls
And go out and get pissed,
A man called 'Brian'--
This man called 'Brian'--
The man they called 'Brian'--
This man called 'Brian'!

----

Think it'd work as a parody?

I would actually download that!

This could definitely make for a hysterical AMV community in-joke, and would probably get a laugh out of more than a few people.

I also had a stupid little idea of ding a Gohan profile to Weird Al's "Rice Rice Baby." Might even still do it if I could rent DBZ DVDs to rip under my brother and sister's noses without getting laughed at....::ponders::

That does sound like an interesting idea. I would actually get that video. Up until now I have downloaded probably only 3 dbz vids, and only liked one of em(the dbz life thing). A parody definitely sounds like a breath of fresh air into dbz amvs. :D

Oh and BishounenStalker your avatar freaks me out :P

I should do that, seeing as my name is Brian. I don't think I'd ever get around to it, though  Also, BishoStlkr, I don't think Weird Al did that song. I'm not familiar with it, and I have most of his stuff :?

Pardon my stupidity in listening to the idiots I downloaded it from on Kazaa. The artist is Mark Jonathan Davis.

As much as I love Weird Al, he gets credited for a lot of stuff he didn't do. Though that's due to people not paying attention when they make up an ID3 tag

Not necessarily lack of attention, more like apathy and ignorance :?
