If you are able to cut the anime the right way, it doesn't matter if the song fits the story or type or not, because you can mold the song, and/or the anime to fit each other.
We are doing our own Akira Project or we'd do this one. Plus that song just rocks.
About more than one person doing the same amv being stealing, that's bullshit. Music Vids are an art form, and just like programing, you can get the same out put (meaning same song using same series/movie) with different execution. Only difference is, in programing you look for reusiblity, in an AMV you look for style. Many different styles doing the same video shouldn't hurt none.
Problem I have is people don't do proper Music Video Layers (White Text usually with a Black outline):
Song
Artist
Record Company
Studio should be in there, your name can go where you insert studio. (If not various) You could also include the anime. This should before like the begining and ending of the AMV not in a bumper that can be removed and changed. Thus making it safer for people to do video with the same song / same anime as some one has done before.
But that was more of a rant than anything else. I apologize and digress from my positition. Do as you see fit.
