Dramatic male deaths

Postby zeiram_00 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 7:13 pm

Looking for scenes of male deaths either directly or indirectly. Actual scene of death or scenes referencing the death work just as well for my needs. The character doesn't need to actually die either, just as long as it can be inferred that the character died. Would like more drawn out dramatic scenes and not just kill cam as I am NOT doing an action style vid with the material. Also would prefer scenes from sources that can be found on legit dvd's currently available or available in the next 2-3 months. And any listing of what episode(s) to find the scene would be very helpful.

Another option i'm looking for are child father interactions. Good/Bad interactions, memories, and flashbacks work well. looking to do something in a flashback style with the clips if that helps in choosing your suggestions.

Thanks

You can probably turn a lot of the nice and peaceful scenes from Kurau: Phantom Memory episode 1 into one that look more flashbacky (they sort of are regardless though, at least. xD

As for a dramatic male death, maybe Hubb in the Wolf's Rain OVAs. He's clinging to a hunk of ice, monologues a bit, closes his eyes slowly and just lets go. He falls to the ground and there's a shot of his corpse against ice, with blood sort of spread out around the back of his head.
Or even Toboe from the Wolf's Rain OVAs. He gets shot and sort of slowly and dramatically falls to the ground.

Whoops, forgot to flesh out my Karau suggestion there. xD
The scenes are a lot of father-daughter scenes in episode 1.

You can find both WR and Kurau on DVD. :3

Fulle from Scrapped Princess has a very noble, dramatic and (for me at least), very sad and affecting death scene. Don't remember exactly what episode, but it shouldn't be too hard to locate.

I only have an overdramatic male death type scene in my head, so it most likely doesn't fit what you're looking for but I'll mention it anyways.
Spoiler :
Light at the end of death note.

For father/son interaction Clannad and Clannad after story might have some useful things.

The "A Kid's Story" segment from The Animatrix could work well.
Spoiler :
The guy jumps to his death at the end of the segment.

Also, Samurai 7 has a few, towards the end of the series.

Spoiler :
In episode 9 of season 2, Professor Colbert dies is a really dramatic death. And in episode 12, Saito dies even more dramatically. But in season 3, Colbert is revealed to have faked his death, and Saito is brought back to life by a fairy that is introduced in the first few episodes.

In the new anime that came out not long ago, Deadman Wonderland, seems like the main guy 'dies' a lot (not that he really does).
Also on To Aru Majutsu no Index, a character named Accelarator does have a few scenes (the main guy might have too...)
