Need anime with surreal or abstract imagery
Hi,
I'm looking for anime with surrealistic or abstract imagery. So far I've got Bakemonogatari, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt through time, Arakawa under the Bridge, and any of the Genius Party/Genius Party Beyond minis. Just wondering if anyone had any other good suggestions, doesn't have to be predeominant in the series if there are just a few good abstract/surreal clips it would help me out, thanks.

Gankutsuou
Ghost In the Shell (especially the second movie)
I know there's more, but I'm at work and I'm sure they'll come to me later. =)

I could also use anything with birds taking flight or butterfly/flowery motifs if anyone has any good suggestions for those.

The birds are in the GitS second movie. Butterflies can actually be found in game footage from Fatal Frame, as well as in the Red Garden anime.tehninjaness wrote:I could also use anything with birds taking flight or butterfly/flowery motifs if anyone has any good suggestions for those.

-Aquarion (has surreal and flowery/feathery-ness, with an abstract looking ep), and maybe Eureka 7

In GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class there's an episode where they're talking about/explaining surrealism. There're unreal scenes etc...

The end credits of "Welcome to the NHK" are pretty damn surreal, as well as some of the main character's more hallucinatory moments.
