A video about today's anime fandom/industry/etc.

Hey, remember this video?



It shows an interesting perspective of how anime fandom was back then. It's a no brainer that fandom nowadays has changed significantly so I was wondering if there's anyone out willing to make an AMV that captures the essence of anime fandom of today. Of course I'm not saying remaking the "Right Now..." video; you're on your own on coming up with a song to use and style you want to portray the theme. In an way, I thought of this idea ever since I came across this video:

Oh hey,

it is Doki's video.

As a matter of fact, I actually just saw the real Van halen RIGHT NOW music video on Much Music (yeah Canada) last night. And was reminded of this very video.

Not only is this one of the first videos I ever saw that got me into AMVs (thanks doki) I think this video is brilliant for several reasons.

1. It is a great satire of the anime fandom.
2. The editing is spectacular.
3. It's also an amazing parody of the actual Van Halen video. Some of the lines and almost all of the stylistic choices came right from the video (blue pointy finger)

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you're describing, but I know an opportunity for shameless self-promotion when I see it!



It would have been more in tune with anime fans if I'd run some sort of poll to see which shows to use instead of relying on a handful of top ten lists, but it is what it is.
