I've seen videos where the editor edits and changes the song frequently as time goes by. However, this might mess up the sync

sometimes ill see an amv, play a song over it for shits, and find that it's MUCH more fitting and in sync. it's always disappointing that the video was wasted on CRAAAWWWLIING INNN MY SKIIIN

Usually my ideas come after I've listened to the song, and then build off of that.

I usually randomly find a song, listen to it 1,000 times, think up a concept that suits the song, and then think up a anime that suits the concept.

I know it's different for everyone.

I also know that I most certainly don't make every AMV the same. Sometimes I'll want to make an AMV with a certain anime, so I search for a song. Sometimes I already have the song, and I search for the anime. Sometimes I have a story, but I need the perfect anime and song. It's a different case for each AMV I make.
But like most people, I usually listen to the song a bajillion times.

Generally I get ideas while listening to songs. It's weird, because my husband and I are both like this. We'll be listening to the radio and just randomly figure out what anime can be used for it. However, my first AMV was the opposite--I REALLY wanted to make a video for 5 Centimeters Per Second so I searched for a song that hadn't been used before.

Usually I find a song and consider a few anime for it that might fit.
Other times its the other way around, but the other times are usually mad gambles for any song because I'm too fanly for my own good. =P I tend to find the song first then consider anime more often.

Well I generally choose an anime than think of a good song to go with it or sometimes Ill be listen to a song and think "That would be good for an AMV!" and thats pretty much how I do it XD.

Right now I only make VGMVs but when doing so I'll either A.) pick a game series and think what kind of genre I want to make the video. Then once that's done I pretty much have how I want the whole video to play out in my head so I just think of a song to go with it or look for one. However sometimes a song itself will inspire me to do a video.
