The biggest blasphemy is AMV Hell getting "Most artistic" or perhaps my definition of art is wrong. :|

Hopefully these semifinals will weed out some of these obvious wrongdoings

I agree.. there are alot of ... vids in category's that don't seem to fit... chalk it up to people just wanting to vote for a vid for everything XD...

I also think No-effects and Simplicity are the same thing arn't they?? O_o...

anyways... i LOVE whispers of the beast... and i hurriedly voted for it the moment i saw it for the categories it pertained to... but...

Greed vs. envy /against/ whispers of the beast... for no-effects? XD!!!!!!

i used what?... a fade in and fade out on that vid.. XD.. and whispers of the beast is like MAD AWSOME croping animation and what not, that I drooled at XD... wish i had seen it earlier...

i'm sure things will straighten out... hopefully... >_<...

With the same people voting in both rounds, why would they?

They will realize the error of their ways.

Seriously though, the nominations was done from a huge list that took a lot of time to scroll though and there were quite a few categories. Especially if you do a couple of categories in a single sitting, I probably made a mistake or two myself.

The semi-finals are much more straightforward and concice, Whisper sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't think there will be a problem.

Hmm, but let's not get focused on the sore thumbs too much. I hope people actually download more of the nominees now and don't vote blindly. Personally, I think most nominations for both simplicity and no-effects are very deserving, and there's no need to get negative about the categories as a whole because of those 'sore thumbs'.

I think phade... or whoever is working on the html/code for the pages used in the contest should put up a disclaimer/message in huge bold fonts that read something like "Vote for your favorite videos ONLY in the categories they PERTAIN TO" then maybe aboult half of the idiots will comply

I was surprised I made the nominations for this category. I know I don't use digital effects, but my video wasn't even mentioned anywhere in the sticky. Tis a mystery.

Otohiko's right, it's best to be positive.

Speaking of which I was actually really supprised by my nomination in this category as well.

(to tell the truth there is one effect... the first title has a ripple effect. But I guess it doesn't really affect the video as a whole.)

Hey kingmob, it's cool that you're pimping out all of this stuff, but perhaps you should pimp out videos that are actually up for nomination?
