I cant get rid of a "YES" on this VCA crap...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Potentially Disqualifying Factors: All factors should say "no". Any in dication of "YES" will mean you will be disqualified. Please fix any "YES" by clicking on the "YES" or the video link.
Has videos with blank anime: No
Has ambiguous anime: No
Has videos with blank music: No
Has ambiguous music: No
No indication for all videos in catalog: No
Has videos with only non-anime footage: YES
Face Street Fighter
Spider Dweller
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
so i spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure out how to change that to a "no" with no luck...so i went looking and here is what a found.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
6: Members must not have any completely "non-anime" video entries. Members who have created a catalog entry where all of the "anime" listed is actually "non-anime", that member will have all of their videos disqualified from this year's contest and will not be able to participate in this year's contest (nominations, voting, etc.). Members may "come clean" and be allowed to participate in this year's contest by using the delete form to remove incorrect video entries.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So im suppose to delete my Spider Dweller and old version of street fighter!?!?

Though don't take my word for it, I'd check with site admin on that. But I am pretty sure that none of your videos in your profile can consist solely of non-anime

I believe Street Fighter would be considered anime, the Spiderman deal probably won't make the cut though.

I think that's Street Fighter Movie as in Jean Claude Van Damne Street Fighter movie...if it's the animated one it should be okay.

I've heard of an animated spiderman, but never a spiderman anime..
are you sure spiderman is anime? maybe you are mistaken?

I personally think the rule is unfair; if they have non-anime's as viable choices for source selection, and have Non-Anime as a specific, usable category, then they shouldn't keep people out of contests just because of having a non-anime video. I mean, they could just not have people nominate said videos is all...
But that's the way it is anyway.

That's so people can properly credit videos that are mostly anime but also use non-anime sources.

Where are you seeing that?

Ahhh, never mind that last statement; it seems they have removed it. They used to have a Non-Anime category, but I guess they didn't want to encourage it anymore. Probably a means of cutting down bandwidth costs by keeping it to official anime only.
It's understandable... but still... blaaaaaaaah.

Nowhere to put my non-anime ideas. And there were so many great Teen Titan music videos too...

You could alway start a long winded arguement of is Teen Tians anime...
.. they're trying that with
The Last Unicorn....

You could try other websites devoted to non-anime fanvids.
(I know they're there because other people have linked to them in the past, but I've never saved the URLs, so I don't have them now.)

A lot of people don't seem to realize this but the non-anime entries you find in the anime list are entered not by the site itself but by
other members.
The song list seems even worse... Try looking for songs by Artists starting with "I" in 'Search by Artist'. You will see a lot of variations of "I Don't Know"

I don't understand.
In order to be eligible for the contest, I have to delete all my non-anime videos? And I'm required to have every video I EVER MADE entered in the catelog?
Excuse me, but that seems REALLY unfair. What do my other videos have to do with the eligible AMVs I made this past year? Why are those rules required for completely unrelated videos to be eligible?
Is this some sort of punishment for people who entered non-anime videos or decided to only post a few videos here? A way of forcing people to remove non-anime work, and to make them catelog videos they didn't want to? What kind of "contest" does that make this?
That's some messed-up underhanded blackmail. I'm not surprised almost all the AMVs on this site are still disqualified despite the warnings. If non-anime videos aren't allowed anymore, just say so. Don't resort to sneaky tactics like this.
