I'm bowing out this year.

Postby AbsoluteDestiny » Fri Jan 07, 2005 4:42 pm

Due to a potential conflict of interest given my role as admin, I'm not going to participate in the VCAs this year. This is to ensure a certain level of trust in the results as I will instead put my efforts into making sure everything goes smoothly.

However, once I get the details set up, the DDR video that gambitt and I worked on will be up for nomination (as it's as much his as it is mine).

Good luck to everyone who is entering this year, it's going to be one of the least predictable vca's ever with every category up for grabs and a lot of potential for newer editors to really shine so I'm looking forward to the two-stage nomination process we're doing this year. Have fun with your nominations!

Respectfully accepted.

You had such a solid nomination on your hands, too...

On the bright side it means I can look over the Multi Editor Projects voting which is going to be a side thing (as it's not got a good database root to it).

Damn, and I really wanted to see Do It Right get some love. But I can understand why you'd abstain from entering. Ah, well. At least it had a nice sweep at AWA.

Following AD's honorable lead, I too have decided to disqualify myself from entering this year's VCAs. Yes, I know I was a shoe-in for Creator of the Year, but I'm sure whoever wins in my stead will still have to follow in my footsteps.

I was wondering if you were going to do this because of the conflict of interests and ethics and it appears you are. I certainly agree with the decision, but it does make my voting a bit harder since your AWA Dance video had my vote for "Video of the Year."

Oh well...

so for the multiproject category only multis from 2004 will be allowed? or there will be an exception since this is the first time this category is used.

i say this because there are some multiprojs from 2003 that wont get a chance for participation.
