+1

btw, I'd love to take '99-GTO but I can edit only on the week after the next, I mean, from 17th of May.

The first beta due date isn't till the end of June so as long as you could meet that date it's fine.

So it wasn't an April Fool? Bah, it would have been a fitting pairing too.

Oh well, thanks everyone for giving me a heads-up before I got properly started and wasted my effort, it's much appreciated.

In the absence of that, then, I'd like to try:

Year: 2003
Anime: Planetes
Music Artist: Gareth Gates
Song: Spirit in the Sky

It's a bit of a poppy choice, I admit, but as Planetes is itself about ordinary life (that just happens to be in space), I think that it's an appropriate link.

EDIT: Also, a question - can we submit clips for multiple years, or do you only want each contributor to stay with one year?

Godix's thread was indeed an April's Fool, however the Evanescence thing is true and has been for a few years now: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=60255.

As for a track... I'd want to do one to 2008, but I'm not sure when I'd be able to give you a beta, so I won't take someone else's space. Add me as backup for that year.

Hmm.. requiring Tardgarith or Huffme for a final. That says to me, "Sorry guys I'll be assembling this on a 486, I can't handle CPU intense High Definition codecs." If your capable of mixing with it, you should add h.264 High Profile to the finals list. (MP4 is a container, not a codec, it preferably contains the codec h.264 (AVC), but can also contain h.263 (the basis of Xvid/Divx) as per spec)

I'd like to claim 1998 please. I have a few ideas I'm tossing around, I need to decide on one.

Just a question while looking at the specs, do you think 640x480 might be a better choice since the majority of the tracks will be fullscreen instead of widescreen? Only the last few years can really fulfill that requirement.

I will, thanks.

Done, I actually meant to change that earlier when I made the "DVDrips preferred" but forgot lol.

Does a re-release count for the anime? Macross Saga is 1985 :(, but re-released in the protoculture collection 2004 (digital remaster my $%$, its identical other then 5.1 sound)

Ah, after thinking about it I will allow re-releases as long as a previous release isn't within the 20 year timespan.......... An example of this is that DBZ is a 1989 premiere so I would not allow Kai.

Never too late to say good luck to you for starting this and everyone involved, I'll give this my best shot
"Someday humankind will come to understand one another! I sincerely believe that!" Fei Fong Wong
"We live to make the impossible possible! That is our Focus!" Claire 'Lightning' Farron
"Believe in yourself, and create your own destiny. Don't fear failure." Toonami

The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way.

I assume this would mark the the the series as the re-release date for selection of music. Hmm, too bad 2004 is gone already. If I think of something else I might want to participate with, I'll let ya know.
