BTG: 20 Years in Anime *Year 90/94/99 Open*(9/18/11 Finals)

What's This?

An MEP showcasing the anime/music of the last 20 years. Every editor picks a year they wish to edit to and uses an anime/anime movie and song that premiered that year.

Guidelines:

Only pick an anime or movie that premiered in Japan for the year you chose. Animes that are the same series but the new season got a different name will not count as a premiere for that year. For example, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni premiered in 2006 while Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai premiered in 2007. Kai would not be counted as a 2007 premiere.

The song you choose must come from the year that you chose for your anime. I'd prefer if the song is recognizable/was a hit but this isn't necessary.

Animes/Music Artists can only be used ONCE.

DVDrips preferred but I understand it may be difficult to get DVDrips of anime from 20 years ago so get the highest quality you can.

Tracks length will be Min-30 seconds and Max-1 minute.

This is a general theme MEP- Meaning I don't care what song/anime combo you use as long as it fits. I don't wanna see action scenes with a love song............use common sense people.

I want this project to be as fun as possible and not seem like more of a chore than a fun project. However if you feel you cannot make the deadline please let me know in a timely fashion. I don't want someone saying "I can't finish my track" a day before the final deadline.

How to Join:
Simply post the year/anime/song you wanna use and PM me a sample of your work.

If someone picks a year you want still submit the info and you'll be added to the list of backups.

Video Specs:

Aspect Ratio: 640x480 (edit in 4:3) or 848x480 (edit in 16:9)
Frame Rate: 29.97 FPS
Codec:Betas-Any codec long as it's viewable
Final- Lagarith or Huffy preferred but will accept h.264 High Profile
No Logos or Subtitles
Make sure to clean up your damn footage.
No Hentai/Excessive Nudity

That'd be really cool to do. It'd be hella-long, but a cool project.

I'd be interested, but I'd like to see more specific guidelines first.

Interesting concept, I might sign up for it if it takes off. I think that it should probably be carried through fully, however - to truly enter into the spirit of things, each year's anime also has to be paired up with a track with was also first released in that same year. It would be an entertaining challenge to deal with a 'handicap' like that and focus minds on finding what's fiting and suitable, which should keep the quality high.

Like this. I really like this idea.

I'll probably have more up tomorrow. If this goes well I'll comprise a list of every anime series/movie that premiered each year to make it easier for people. As for the song thing people would have to search for themselves as there'd be way too many to list. Also, as to the length, even if everyone did the full 45 secs it'd only be 15 minutes roughly.

Saw this link on your YT page and this seems like it could be a powerful MEP so I'm down, and I agree on the idea of the individual songs used on the same years as the individual animes.
