Was it ever decided if it's going to be pure 16:9 or not, I mean, I read a while back it was in the consideration stages, but I hadn't heard anything definite?

That said, it looks like the project is going to be 16:9, so those of you who are editing with that just stick with it, and those of you with 4:3 sources plan on cropping or something. Decision isn't final yet, so don't be too hasty.
