So does that mean I have to re-send my entry?

I just deleted it off the server to...

That seems to be the case, yeah, unfortunately. Gives you the chance to make any quick changes you may want to make though.

...I'm back!!!

Give me a day to go back and read through the comments left behind and storyboard the changes set forth. I may have to ask those of you who sent me files through any upload site with a seven-day file expiration to re-up them. Otherwise I still have the mp4 on Rapidshare.

I'm gonna have to rework the entire thing for the sake of Otakon anyway but AMA (this weekend) is only a beta-screening to gauge reaction. I'll do everything in my power, including bringing my system to con and working on it in my hotel room, to make sure the video they see is decent enough.

Anyhow,...I'll get back with y'all tomorrow sometime... ;)

Welcome back, Deuce, you'll have my clips ready for you by tonight, I'll send them through Transferbigfiles again. I've made some changes and timing adjustments to a few of them as well. I'd recommend omitting credits for the AMA test to save you some time. What you could do if you want to simulate the start of credits is to make like 10 of the credits quickly, have them start, then do the second birdman clip and then just play the production tags to get a feel for that reaction. If it's a panel, like you insinuated earlier, then you're there to tell them that the credits aren't finished yet. If not, well... I could help you make a credit sheet or something if you'd like since I have plenty of time.

I'll get the clips ready for you now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, did you want me to put some kind of AMVS logo into the Sony POS? I don't think it's really necessary, but it can be done. I had mixed feelings about it from the last beta. Also, please check out the rapidshare I posted earlier and tell me if you want adjustments to the logo. It's still tuesday, I need at least two days to get you another render of it with any desired changes, so now's the time.

The internet welcomes you back into it's warm embrace.

Ya, I think people would understand, especially with it being a beta for a test audience. And besides I think pretty much everybody has had their computer have a melt down at some point or other.

My stuff's uploading back to my server as I write this, but the old links aren't gonna work since I'd deleted them.

And my opinion is probably biased, but I kinda like the pokemon one being not after the credits. lol.

I don't really want the clip after the credits either, but I do like the idea of a small post-credit joke to sort of punctuate the ending. Oh well, it's not necessary.

I sent an e-mail as well, Deuce, but I'll mention it here too. You should have 3 e-mails from TransferBigFiles with all my stuff in it.

Well, not so good news after all.

As it turns out, my computer is refusing to recognize the sound card in it. I don't know what drivers I need to make it work and I've downloaded all the updates Windows has to offer.

Since I can't hear what I'm editing, AMA is gonna have to settle for the most recent beta. Just remember that this is ONLY to gauge audience reaction to the material. I'm gonna be taking notes, marking what worked and what can be changed. When I get back from con Sunday night, I'm gonna storyboard the entire thing according to what you all and the viewers have said so far.

This also means CurryMuttonPizza has time to get stuff in. :P

The next beta should be ready for release by middle of next week, giving us two more weeks to hammer out the final. I'm not gonna let this machine beat me and affect this project... :nono:

Aahh, good luck with that.... I sent everything in anyway.

Huh, I hope people don't react horribly to my Ouran clip, since I hadn't gotten a chance to fix what apparently looked racist. T_T

Looks like the Chobits "Sony Piece of Shit" video is extremely relevant here. I'm convinced computers go through PMS in which the symptoms include hating AMV production. Give it some Midol and chocolate covered pretzels, and don't ask why it's upset. :ying:

CMP: Honestly, I didn't see anything racist about it, even after hearing the debate. The drawn-in faces are too cartoonish and funny to be anything but what was intended. I doubt seriously anyone else will find it remotely racist. ;)

Let me also explain something. Concerning the AMVS3 credits at the beginning. They are ONLY there to demonstrate not only that they're 30 seconds faster but how the flow feels if AMVS3 and 4 were connected as a continuous video (for conventions only). The full-length product will stretch about 45 minutes in all.

Also...does anyone remember that fake commercial-type video short of a compact car driving down a rural road on a sunny day with soothing music in the background, only to be interrupted by the sudden appearance of a zombie? If you all want a final clip after the credits, how about someone replace the zombie with the Geico money?..and a graphic for AMV Salad 5 - premiering Otakon 2011? Just a thought.

Honou_Miko/Deuce: All I can say about the eyes on the black faces was that's what I and apparently moonbunnychan saw and our minds had to work a little to correct the perception. I can't guess how many others will see that, but the risk is more that that retranslation happens to distract from the joke. Psychologically if we're considered a small test group, than more people than you might think would see it too, and the audience does have many black people. If I had to choose an 'ideal' for this, I'd suggest scenes with the characters being angry without the black faces if the scenes exist. The contrast would be obvious, but I know that would be a bit annoying. I know it doesn't simulate the flashbacks as you wanted, really the reason I brought this up was to be aware that several in the audience will probably need a moment to re situate themselves.

And thanks for clarifying, Deuce. Does that mean we know when the Salads will be playing? I thought you said it was going to be one on Friday night, and one Saturday night? Is this 45 minute one still hypothetical, or is it a given now? And will it play both nights?

As for the commercial, I've no idea what you mean, but if others do and like the idea, I'd say go for it ^^ More comedy never hurt a Salad.
