I got some ideas, but that would require me to actually watch anime. :x

Use porn, you don't have tos ee it to know the contents.

Now, I'm off to go buy Enzai to make my video. Dear God I can't believe I'm going to buy that.

AMV Hell /0 is also accepting nightmarish videos. For example: http://tiny.cc/FaqU9
Oh Ontario and your horrifically disturbing commercials.

Also the URL having FaqU in it makes me extremely happy.

Re: Wanted to check on length?

Yes, I would also like to know if there is a time limit. No time limit is mentioned in the first post, but I'm just asking because I had an idea for a clip, but after I was done making it, it was 53 seconds long. After rewatching AMV Hell 0 and timing some of the longer segments, a few of them were over 40 seconds. My clip is not much longer than the longest clips in AMV Hell 0, but I can cut it down if necessary. (I have a handful of other ideas that will NOT be as long.)

ssgwnbtd wrote:The theme is over-the-top offensiveness in any form. All videos that are inoffensive will be rejected.

Um, I'd like a little clarification on this, if anybody can help me out. What is considered offensive? The reason I'm asking is because I'm apparently a desensitized bastard as I watched AMV Hell 0 without being fazed one bit by anything in it, so nothing really offends me. (While some of my real life friends, whom I showed it to, flinched at a few of the parts.)

Basically, is the general content in AMV Hell 0 considered offensive by the standards that Divided By 0 is being made by? If not, then at what point does the content begin to drift into the 'offensive' zone? (I'm sure the clip I made, while not necessarily being offensive [to me], might make a few people squirm as in the same method found in AMV Hell 0. Hopefully this is also something you guys are looking for.)

Speaking of my clip, is it acceptable to put my clip up somewhere and post a link to it so I can get some critique on it?

Since this is the first clip that I made, I'd like some 'peer review,' so to speak, on things such as matching the actions of the hentai to the song, timing, if the general theme of the clip is acceptable for this project, etc. Also, I was able to get the latter half of my clip to flow with the song better than the first half, so if people don't like the first half, than I would edit it down so I wouldn't have to be worried about the clip being too long.

Long story made short, the reason why I'm asking about posting a link to it is because when I signed up, I thought I read that posting links is against the forums rules. Plus it contains hentai, so... :?

Anyway, if anybody can answer my questions, that would be great. Thanks!

How's this as a decent description. Offensive is usually something that they would never show of basic cable. Offensive is the stuff they put in the "Unrated" version of an "R-rated" movie's DVD. Offensive is the stuff you'd avoid saying in front of your teachers. Offensive is is something bad, and you should feel bad.

if you want something simplier (in terms of video quality)/easier you could try ulead... videostudio... or something like that, and if you want to make it nicer use Adobe Premiere Pro (2 or CS3), but in that case accept the fact that you WILL have to actually read the manual ;)

to answer deutschjoe: Things like racism, Overly sexual content, Violence sexual content, etc...

A bit about 9/11 always works well. Or a black guy chasing a watermelon, stuff like that would prolly work.

Thank you for your excellent clarifications, guys (and/or gals.) Given the music and anime that I have, I'm not sure I can do racism or 9/11, but thanks for mentioning it anyway. The reason I asked what offensive is is because out of the ideas that I have, there are a few that are simply standard run-of-the-mill AMV Hell 0 material. I wasn't sure if the project editors were trying to meet or exceed those standards. And yes, I do kind of feel bad simply because next to nothing bothers me when I know a lot of stuff should. :( However, there is one 2-episode hentai series that seriously makes me sick. So I'm naturally going to pull material from it to contribute to this project. (Though I wonder if it's even going to be accepted for being too over the top for this project. Keep in mind that nothing in AMV Hell 0 bothered me in the least.)

I did some searching around about posting links to AMV clips that contain objectionable material. And it seems that posting links to external file sharing sites is acceptable. That, and those people people seem to want to post the video on the local server, where I'm just wanting to post it for peer review. So, about that 53-second clip that I was talking about in an earlier post (NOT the clip that I plan to make in the above paragraph), well, here it is (40MB, Xvid 640 x 480 30fps, PCM audio):

http://www.sendspace.com/file/qdahlc

(Yes, I know it has B-frames in it. I encoded with B-frames so the filesize wouldn't get out of control for people that want to download it. [Though in retrospect I should have encoded the audio in MP3 also. :?] I have a non-B-frame, PCM version ready for submission.)

Seeing as it's the first AMV video I have ever made, I'd like a little bit of feedback on it, if anyone has the time to watch it and post his or her comments. Basically, what I did is took the song and tried to match the hentai with it. Overall, one of the things you will notice is that the latter half of the video makes more sense than the first half. This is because it was harder to arrange the material so it would make sense with the lyrics found in the first half. ("He thinks he has something to say" was the hardest to find something that it makes sense with. Also, imagining that that eel is a "soul of the free," getting peed on is a punishment for not listening [He is shaking his head "no" after all. Hehe.] and that the second "Don't open your eyes..." line is both from the perspective of the "slave" and the viewer makes those parts of the video make more sense. Then again, if this gets in, it's not like everybody that watches Divided By Zero will know that, so whatever. Basically, reading in between the lines of the song within the context of the video makes it much more enjoyable.) Also, if you've seen this hentai, you will notice that some parts have been slowed down in my video. This is because this song is a bit slow, so I had to slow those parts down so that the corresponding parts would match up.

I don't know, maybe I'm over analyzing it. But anyway, if you have the time to watch it and give feedback, please let me know what you think.

Thanks!
