=DarKNesS= wrote:Oh, and Deuce. I don't really want to interfere, but what I want to say is that I'm pretty good at making trailers and that kind of stuff (while my AMVs do suffer in lack of background story and any moral at all ^^'). So if you want, you can send me the submissions you intend to use for the trailer and I'll think of something  While you can also work on a trailer and in the end, we'll see what suits best. Plus, I guess it shouldn't really be that time consuming, because I already have a few ideas in mind

I appreciate the offer, and I actually have more than half of the preview thing constructed. It's gonna be kind of short due to not having a lot of material to use. When I finish, I'll send it to you and perhaps you can put your own spin on it, maybe even add on to it..? Anyway, if you feel so inclined, I'd really like you to do the opening sequence again. I would, but I'm stuck for what song / sound clip to use for a sequel opening and I don't have enough video to work with (it's all being used for AMVs). All that and you did such a good one last time. ;)

As for the rest of you, you'll see the finished product (of the trailer) within two weeks. Again, I'm anxious to see what you all have to offer.

Finally, this: from now on, I'll only add your names to the list of producers committed to this project (in opening post) once you have submitted your first clip and production tag. It's just me needing to keep track of who is seriously down with the Salad...

Anyway, if you feel so inclined, I'd really like you to do the opening sequence again.

Hmm.. I really don't have any ideas on that now, but sure, why not, I'll think of something :) I have a 2 week break, so I guess that's enough time to think and maybe even make a few more submissions.

Sure, that's a great idea. But if you don't mind, I'll also work on something on my end, you don't even have to give me the submissions, I'll make everything from the anime episodes I have, we'll see what will come out of this

Ooohkay, long time no post, huh? Er, hi! ^^*

Fact is, life has been rather hectic and fundage has been small. But! I think I'm almost ready to purchase Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 and, if the compilation's still open to new members, contribute!

Question is, what capability does this program have as far as layering video? It's not a big deal, but I've seen some great AMVs that have pictures sliding around and moving separately on screen, and it would be neat to know if Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8's capable of that before buying it. (The tutorial on the trial version never quite explained that, and the website's a tad confusing.)

Thanks a lot! I'm looking forward to offering clips with file names that don't end in .wmv!

Hi, RanMouri!

I understand you completely, I'm also having a pretty hard time right now ^^' Still, good to see you here again.

About Vegas: I would personally suggest Vegas 6 (or 4), as they are the best Vegas..es in the series :D As I've seen, Vegas 8 has a new interface and a lot of new useless stuff, like HD video and audio editing and rendering capabilities, a few more rendering formats and etc. I personally don't need all that and rather stick with good old Vegas 6. But if you really want to buy the newest version of Vegas, it's up to you to decide...

Mind that even the older versions of Vegas can do all that and more. So, I guess Vegas 8 is also capable of doing it.

Anyway, if you wanna learn more about Vegas, I'll send you a PM and can explain the basics, if you want. Vegas has a really easy-to-understand interface (at least 4 and 6 do), very similar to WMM's and you can get use to it pretty quick...

Thanks so much! I'd love an explanation. So far, all I've figured out with Vegas 8 is how to layer a square-shaped portion of one video over another, which doesn't help much.

Is Vegas 6 still available? (That's the Movie Studio, not the Pro.) It would be nice if it was cheaper, too. Thanks again! ^^

That's too bad man.. :(
I don't know if there's gonna be AMV Salad 3, but I sure hope there will be. Anyways, good luck to ya!

I'm not sure about the Movie Studio, but Pro's got to be available. Sorry I haven't sent you the explanation yet, I was just busy on the AMV Salad trailer. I'm done with it and I'll probably upload it to the org and will drop the link here, if anyone would like to see it.

I'll send you PM about Vegas as soon as possible, but for now, I'm off to sleep X_X

First, we must sadly say adios to Alex-ok. Work, school, and...well, life calls. If you still can't cut it by end of June, remember us when AMV Salad 3: Three-Bean Casserole begins next year.

On a similar note, join me in welcoming back to the Salad RanMouri! Her talents have been missed around here so it's good that she's here again.

In other news,...I concede.

=DarKNesS= does it again.

Wait until you see this trailer. I am jealous of this guy's artistic talent.

I'm not saying I love the rest of you any less, though. ;) His ideas for the preview trailer were just leagues better than mine. But it looks like we came up with something to effectively tease the viewers with.

The more I see from you all, the more I become anxious to see your next works. Let's keep those clips coming in..!

Little originality, I'm sorry to say. Still relatively enjoyable.
Looking forward to the release with an absense of 300 audio and Imogen Heap, thank you.

This is an interesting statement. Are you going to join the project? I'd be interested in whatever ideas you have. And not every clip submitted will get into the finished product. I personally thought the preview clip was great, but anyway...feel free to make any attempt to outdo the other producers here. ;)

Hmm.. I went over almost all 300 trailer spoofs and haven't seen even one using these anime and itself being funny, but rather all of them were serious. Guess I don't watch enough AMVs to know that... Or maybe you meant that 300 trailer was overused? I totally agree with that, but I've done something completely different with it... Anyway, thank you for your opinion and I'm glad you relatively enjoyed it :)

No, I do not plan to join. While I may have a few fragments of ideas for AMVs, I lack the editing skills and the inspiration to actually make one. I'm mainly here to view progress and make a comment when I feel so. The most I can contribute would be to give you one of my ideas.

=DarKNesS= wrote:Or maybe you meant that 300 trailer was overused?

That's exactly what I meant. I've seen way too many 300 spoofs, and the best wasn't even an AMV. In my eyes right now, AMV Salad is a continuation of the idea of AMV Hell that hopes to keep the concept alive. I know that AMV Salad can grow beyond this, and become something new and original - perhaps even better than AMV Hell, but this cannot happen until it rids itself of overused ideas.

On another note, as far as being a trailer goes, it was good.
It cannot stand alone as an AMV, though.

Ditto on the sad farewell. But kudos on next year's title!

Thanks so much for the welcome! *bows* I hope to add some humble contributions soon.

That preview trailer was smart, funny, and crisply edited. The randomness of the salad imagery reminded me of bananas in Ouran Koukou Host Club. Super job, =DarKNesS=!
