I'm not planning on answering hte 2nd point until I learn what this means, because if I think I know what you're talking about, ending it with the final part of 'JoS' may not be suitable >.<

By lyrical progression, I mean that you want to tell a story, and that the way in which you structure the mix allows you to do that. I know Green Day made this album as a story, and they did a pretty good job of it, but you have priviledges that they don't. Namely, the ability to cut tracks and spread them throughout, among others. Jesus Of Suburbia is the single defining track of the album, and spreading it throughout would give your mix focus and originality. And when they sing "You're leaving..." in the final part, that should be the end of your lyrical progression. Not to mention musically, it would be a great high to finish on (And Green Day obviously intended that)
In simpler terms, that would be the way to kick ass.
