So I sent out a PM to all of the editors involved with this project with a link to my cut of Track 13. Basically I want to get feedback from fellow editors so I can make whatever corrections necessary.

If you didn't recieve a PM from me, then let me know.

Attention all editors! Sorry to bust your Christmas pies today, but some guys are confused when they click on the link I sent them. Apparently you need to copy the 'entire' address, and then paste it to your address bar. That means copying the "(x264).mp4" part too. Once that's done, you'll be able to view it through a Quicktime Player stream on your browser. If you want to save the file, then I suggest getting something like Unplug for your Mozilla Firefox.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

EDIT: And yes I'll make everything easier in the future.

don't add () to your Links, it always fucks up any Link.

If anyone has problems saving the file to the comp, just go to http://tinyurl.com/ , make the Link a small link and then make a "fake post" with the link, preview it, rightclcik -> save as and then DO NOT post anything, just leave the page..well that's how I saved it to my computer XD

Any nut job could understand that if the link doesnt work and wow theres more at the end of it.. just copy the entire thing till .avi/.mov/.wmv/.whatever the hell the file extension is.

Oh and about 2-3 versions ago VLC became compatible with mp4 :)

After reviewing how many freaking widescreen tracks I've received i've deemed it a better idea to just use widescreen as the source for the final encode...

The problem is whether or not you all are able to re-encode your tracks and get them to me. I know this is a lot of trouble but i think it will be worth it viewing quality wise. Hope all of you kept your project files. If you didn't then please let me know. I won't make a size change to the final project if people didn’t keep their project files. Though I'll be disappointed even if it is my fault for making a change like this so far into the MEP.

So far after about an hour of stupidity and my computers calculator i came up with 800x450 for the widescreen tracks and 600x450 for the 4:3 tracks. I deemed it to be the most efficient I could find size + Kb/sec quality wise.

I'd like some input before anything is final tho. If you all think it should be smaller or bigger let me know or if you got a calculation of your own that you think would be better that’s fine too.

This was my first time running an MEP and I should of just went with widescreen from the beginning but i went with the "norm" instead. Now I'm regretting it. I'm gonna think stuff through a little more in future MEP business.

Edit: There is one other option though. All the people with widescreen tracks would have to send me a new copy in 848x480. And all the people who sent me 4:3 tracks can just be lazy and not worry about it cause they are allready fine.

The final project would be 848x480 with the 4:3 tracks 640x480 letterboxed. Maybe I could have stuff goin on on the sides of the 4:3 tracks dunno yet. Need yer opinions before anything is final.

I had personal issues with my quality anyway and (even though i still didn't find the perfect script for Pal karas) I'm up for the re-encode.

But why not Just making it 848x480, if most Tracks are widescreen anyway...?

What about adding like..Live Action Clips of the Band Playing on the Borders?

Just plain black borders on left and right Look ugly imo, I'd rather be for cropping and upscaling if no one likes my idea or if no one has another idea for "stuff on the borders"..

So then do I need to re-encode mine and send it to you? I actually forgot what resolution mine was, if I remember right it was like 640 x 352, 4:3 i think, so?

If your source (the anime you used) is 4:3 then you dont have to get me another track. So basically anyone that sent me 640x480 with no black borders is fine.

The people that sent me 640x480 letterboxed tracks are gonna have to get me new encodes.

Otbwavelength: Yes your gonna have to get me a new encode at 848x480, and so is everyone else that sent me a widescreen letterboxed track. Consider this a chance to change some things or try to produce a better looking track video quality wise. I'll be PM'ing all the people i need new encodes from later tonight to avoid confusion.

As for the black borders: I have plenty of ideas for that including particled flames etc syncing to the beat. so yeah no worries there.
