Hate to throw a monkey wrench in things, but there were a number of comments in this thread that kind of irritated me.
BTW- No windows movie maker or other editing program that is bad like WMM,
The editor makes the video,
not the fucking editing program. I'm getting incredibly sick of people making the assumption that WMM is a bad program. It is not. It just so happens that since it's free and available that many, many more editors use it. That, of course, leads to a higher percentage of them making bad videos, since newbies tend to be the ones using that program. Similarly, Premiere and the like are
not good programs by nature alone. It is also the editor in this case that makes the video. Since several of them require a good deal of money for purchase, the tendency is for more experienced people to use the higher level programs. Therefore, you get less newbies and less bad videos.
Moral of the story: don't ever judge a program. The higher level ones may have more capabilities, but in the hands of an inexperienced editor, they're useless.
sorry but not too many people here like Naruto :/
*insert Lex Luthor
WRONG! here* Two words: Super Search. Clearly, this anime is very well liked for there to be so many videos on the site. And don't try to give me crap about the more experienced editors not liking it either, because I can give you three videos right off of the top of my head that were made by said people and that used Naruto.
I don't like Naruto myself, but that was just an out and out false statement.
plus it's Naruto, and just to be honest (completely honest) not as many people would watch it.
Again, while I would not watch this video, please refer to the above paragraph for my reasoning on why it could still do very well. Granted, the use of one song may take away from the viewing audience, but I have seen plenty of single-song, shorter MEPs that were quite successful.
you still have no hosting,
Oh, so this constitutes being able to head a MEP, eh? Why didn't you tell me before!? I would have stopped Project FMV ages ago!
Seriously. All you need is hardware, software, media, and a group of editors to pull off a MEP. Hosting is convenient, but it
doesn't even factor in.
On that note, I've noticed that the op decided to close the MEP. Long story short, quite berating people with ungrounded facts. You didn't need to bash his idea. You all could have simply reiterated that he was inexperienced yet, and his idea would surely still be waiting for him when he learned what he needed to.
Now, I'd appreciate it if you didn't all go ahead and start taking potshots at me. : /
