Project FMV: Official Thread (released!)

This forum is for the announcement, organisation and discussion of Multi-Editor AMV Projects.

Postby dj_ultima_the_great » Sun Mar 18, 2007 6:33 pm

Hiya, folks. Just wanted to say that I'm back from break now, and with the final mix up (which sounds amazing, by the way), it's looking like we're just about good to go. I just need one last thing from you, Take-san. I need that list of who is editing which song, in their correct order. Once I get that, I'll readjust the main page for the working project. Thanks Take, and thanks to everyone else for holding on so far. :D

Thank you, thank you, thank you, my dear. That's exactly what I was looking for. (And yes, I have your ten seconds, and I think that'll work okay.)

With that, I've updated the main page in several ways. I'm not sure if the track listings look more orderly now, but at least they're all viewable at the same time. I hated doing all that scrolling before when I was making updates. I've added some color coding notes that will go into effect as more people start editing. The link to the full mix is now in the first post as well.

The only thing left to do on my end is contact the other beta testers, make sure they're still interested, and snag their preferred contact info.

Other than that... edit away, folks! It's been a bit of a wait since that first frantic day of sign ups, but we're finally good to go! ^_^

*whew* You're welcome, DJ-san =3 I'll be getting to work on my track pretty soon, maybe have a beta up within a few weeks.

Although, I have a question for bluetrain, regarding this thread here. Looks like there was an argument over whether Halo videos could be uploaded to AMVorg, and as it turns out, Halo isn't a game made by a Japanese company and isn't really allowed on the ORG. Did a search, there's a good deal of Halo videos here. But it looks like all the videos using Halo only don't have links, and the videos with multiple sources are still up.

So maybe our MEP will be fine, but I'm just hoping this doesn't turn into an issue or anything. Hopefully this doesn't conflict with DJ-san's "Games must be .org-able" rule . . . *paranoid?*

Actually, I can address that issue, since it did come up before.

The general rule on the .org is that videos must be at least 51% anime (if you're being really technical), but it's safer to lean towards three quarters anime. In the beginning, I said "Japanese games only," but that was mostly to keep people from picking too many non-Japanese games and making the entire project un-.orgable. I did mention to the two people who asked about it (bluetrain and AMV4000), that if they wanted I would be fine with them using the non-Japanese games, though. Two tracks out of thirteen really isn't that big of a deal. However, bluetrain was the only one who ended up actually deciding on a non-.orgable game.

In short, this project is well within the .org quota for "anime" (I made sure of that), and I did give my consent when the issue was brought up. So, no worries.

Ah, okay then o.o I knew there was a rule about percentages and such, didn't quite remember what it was though. But hey, you're on top of it,

Hmm o.o Not sure what happened with SendSpace there. I've got a MegaUpload link uploading the file now for you, hopefully that one will work.

EDIT: Here we go.

MEGAUPLOAD: Project FMV Full Uncompressed Mix

DJ-san, wanna put the MU link on the front page as well, just in case the SendSpace doesn't work for everyone?

Ok sweet, thanks - the megaupload link works just fine. Sorry to bother you and make you upload that again..

Okay, i start work April 2. However i too have a few projects that i need to finish... so i'll try and get them out of the way during my first week of holidays. Homework and this can take up the second week.. Ergo i will probably start on the 9th of April-ish.

Just thought i'd let you in on that highly anticipated news.
*sigh* its a shame not to see any Silent Hill in this project... *shakes fist*

I like it so far, Scott  =3 I like the simpler editing style, flows well with your song choice.

I also decided to hop on the Beta Bandwagon, got an XviD-compressed file (because the best I could do with compressing otherwise was 300MB, and you'd all probably appreciate a 10MB better) of my track thus far. Only 23 seconds, but I don't think it'll take too long to finish once I get to it. Simple editing for the beginning, but once the track picks up I'll have a bit more fun.

The Take's Super Duper Dirge of Cerberus Beta

Because I'm also working on Teh Gay Video for Puppets and also swamped with schoolwork, it might be a while before I pick this up again o.o

dj_ultima_the_great wrote:April 1st: sayde requires ten or fifteen seconds of footage from your track. If you don't have that much edited by April 1st, ten or fifteen seconds of lossless footage from your game will also suffice. THIS WILL NOT BE THE SAME FOOTAGE YOU ARE SENDING TO DJ_ULTIMA.

Question!!!
Does it matter if i send an edited part if i change some scenes in it afterwards???
I´ll send it to sayde on saturday or sunday.....and of course the 10secs for dj-san aswell....
