Fixed.. :x

Don't worry about anything too much guys, I think real life is kicking all of our asses as of late.

I'll be sending out individual pm's to everyone sometime after next wednesday. Ripping GC games is an extremely complicated process and I can't even understand it. I think it involves hacking Phantasy Star online and networking the cube to your pc with the network adaptor.

WTF?!

Ok, time to pull out the video camera, that sounds like less of a hastle

w00t! FallChild42 has finished his track and the page has been updated accordingly.

The new beta deadline is May 2nd and there's some new goodies on the ftp. PM me for access since that's where you'll be uploading your betas and mpeg2s.

So what's going on now? Haven't had an update in a while and I remember you said you had to push the beta deadline.

Progress updated on me real fast, I'm busy caputring Skies Footage right now, slow process since I have to record it to my camera first then move it to teh computer but it's getting there. Knowing my trackrecord I'll have the video done before Anime Expo.

Things are looking pretty good so far. Been receiving quite a few betas. I'll be doing a progress check next week for the editors who I haven't contacted for a while.

So far I got the project a spot at AWA although I dunno what time/day it will be showing.

Ok so I've got a problem; turns out the footage I captured to my computer is no good. Due to teh screwy method one ahs to go about getting GC footage I recorded it to my camera and then used Vdub to get the footage off of it onto my computer.

However, while this seems to have rendered decent AVIs the files work for shit on my computer. Everytime I work with it in premiere it typically crashes before I can even get one clip in. (This is not the case for the Last Exile footage I'm using). I can't figure otu what's wrong and I KNOW it's not the file size because the largest one is only 37 megs.

So I can only see three options

1. Make a video that uses NO video game footage (I'd rather not do this as it doesn't make sense considering the project)

2. Find another way to get the footage; however this means I have to find DVDs that can get to me ASAP or somethign else that has to be very fast and still efficient.

3. Drop out of the project alltogether.

Need input on this one because I'm at an impase; I've got 40 seconds done but nothing else because I cannot proceed with how AP is acting up.

Maybe make the the video without the game footage first. Like put all the anime scenes you want at the parts you need.

I would actually recommend not using vdub to capture and using the actual camera software to capture. You can use vdub to convert the captured footage into huffy.

If you can, try to get the rendered avis into vdub or vdub mod and convert them to huffy, what codec does your camera render in?

Or do it the loooong way. You encode the rendered avis in tmpeg and reconvert them into avi with vdub/vdub mod

The footage was captured using Vdubs camera capture system. I captured them as avis in huffy format so I don't get what's up.

Other capturing software isn't really an option sadly; for some reason I lost the program I used to capture with and I can't find the disc to reinstall it (I haven't needed it in almost a decade). So it's capture in vdub or nothing.

I guess you can try encoding the avis to mpeg2 and use avisynth with avs scripts in premiere. It may take a while to encode all the mpeg2s, but DGIndex should put them all together in one convenient script.

Lemme know what develops and if you need help with this method, let me know.

Of course, this all depends if tmpeg or your mpeg encoding program will accept the avis in the first place.

I've sent out the VG4 progress checks for July and I have some things to say.

As of now, the project is only 1/3 complete. This is not including the intro/outro or the shorts I'm making. I'm still pretty optimistic about the project and I'm confident it will be done. 45 minutes is the bare minimum I'd want the project to be at and one hour for the max. If all the assigned editors get done in time, we should hit that mark. I still want the editors to keep the August 31 deadline in mind. I'm sure MCWagner will give us an extension, but I'm not 100% sure how long it will be. Now with the AWA pro deadline finished, the editors should make VG4 their top priority. I'm not too worried since the project is in the RVG syndrome of 3 years ago where all the editors got done pretty late. I'll start panicking when it's Sept 1 and no progress has been made.

If you don't have the ftp info, now is the time to contact me about it. I'll be doing more checkups on August 15 and the the 30th. Hopefully I'll have better info about the deadline extension by then.

Remember to refer to the main VG4 page for details if you still wanna join the project..

Good luck to all the editors!

Ok guys, I've just spoke with MCWagner and the absolute final deadline is Monday, Sept 10.

Your video must be in my hands by 11:59pm on Sept 10 or else you won't be able to participate in the project.

Good luck to all the editors!
