I'm afraid of the same thing. :-/

Just to give an update on mine, background's 3/4 done. top layer's 1/2 done. Effects... to come. O.o Should have it well before deadline tho

Don't worry too much about fitting in with the others in the project.
Im not on the level of some other editors in the project myself
All you have to do is do your best and have fun with it.
Everyone should be fine as long as they follow the project's minimum requirents
(good sync/flow, scenes fitting well with song, good video quality at 640x480,no subs/logos/watermarks)

Just have fun with your segment(s) and do some cool stuff with them ^_^
Use whatever ideal you think goes well with your segment.
