[WMM-Only] Collaboration?

Postby Kodack Productions » Sun Sep 10, 2006 8:30 pm

I really would like to do a collab video with someone (preferably 4 to 6 people, but 1 or 2 would work too) but I don't know a dang thing about organizing a MEP. If anyone would like to help me in my little venture, please submit your ideas and knowledge so I can get this thing started.

Well, I guess I can list the particulars I actually do have figured out.

Firstly, it will be named the Anime Mix Tape Vol 1 and it will consist of only rap/hip hop songs. It can be any artist, mainstream, or underground, as long as the song fits the video, and it isn't a horrible excuse for music.

And any anime is allowed.
And here's the shocker. ONLY WMM projects will be allowed 'cus I'm tired of people hating on WMM. I wanna get tha best WMM users on here to come together and show them what skilled hands to do with the (and I'm being real) limited hardware.
That's all I know, the rest will have to be learned... So teach me. Lol.

I don't know if this should be here or the MEP section, but a mod will decide that.

If you want to run a MEP, try reading through this page and check how some for the newer ones are being organized. There are a good seven or eight decent MEPs going on now so read through the thread to see how things work out.

I think you might have a problem there. If you want only WMM project files, when they are sent to you, you'll have problems watching the video and audio, or the whole thing alltogether. Unless of course you have the video and audio files that were used and placed in the exact same location on you comp as the person's who submitted it to you. I figured this out when I moved my video files to another folder, and once I opened the project file, there were only X's. It was soon fixed, since it has located the video files in a seperate folder. But if they're nonexistant, you wouldn't be able to preview the project file. In short, they would have to send you the complete .wmv file or send you the project file and the video clips and audio that were used.

Sorry for the double post, but after a thought or two, I might go along with this, depending on if any other WMM users, or editors who's brave enough to use WMM, will join. I might make an AMV nonetheless, some ideas just popped up here and there.

Ah, indeedeth! I have interested people! : ) Well, you two, I do have alot of good ideas for making this thing happen, but I'm learning how the whole process works. 8bitsamurai, since you seem to have a good grasp of how the final editing works, would you mind helping me learn the in's and out's when it comes time to put all the vids together? My AOL name is darakerukunteki and my yahoo is kentaro_black

Also, one cool idea I had was, since this is a hip/hop themed thing, I would go record myself doing voice over intros for each person on the mix tape when their section starts. Like a real rap mixtape, you know? I think that would get it hype and stuff. Annnnnnnnnd, I'm gonna move this topic to its proper section. Look for it in the MEP thread under Anime Mix Tape Vol 1

I could probably give it a try. I'm not really promising anything, but I can give it a try. I got other things I want to work on as well, but I'll see what I can do

actually limiting your base to only "good" wmm users AND music has to be rap will sevearly limit your potential candidates, seeing as not many people around here actually like rap.

Unless Kodack only wanted strictly WMM users. But that's my understanding of it.

We ain't asking for much. Already we are half way filled with the positions. And of course we ain't that stressed out about time, for now. I think Kodack would be able to help fill in the gaps with the discussions we had so far.

Anyways, I'm moving this to the multi-editor forum since it should really be there instead.

interesting

Postby SilversLightning » Wed Sep 13, 2006 1:09 pm

well the idea of only using WMM is interesting. I was a long time WMM user and was able to make something good out of WMM (for example the videos in my signature)

However, the only thing that turns me off is the use of rap/hip hop. It's probably my least favorite type of music generally with a fex exceptions. But maybe I would consider this....

Then again, I just made the glorious transition from WMM to Vegas. I then vowed to NEVER use WMM again unless I absolutely have to, but I can identify with the agony of editing with it and having it crash on you every 10 seconds. One thing I definitely don't miss

But I will check out the real thread for this and see if I'm still interested, since I would like to have some of my better WMM things represented like the one's in my signature.
