Freddy Mercury Tribute - interest gauge

Postby Keeper of Hellfire » Fri Apr 07, 2006 2:22 am

This year it's 15 years ago that Freddy Mercury, one of the greatest entertainers of all times, died. And it's 60 years ago that he was born. I think it's a good idea to remember him with a MEP using "his" music. So if you're interested, reply to this thread. But remember, it's an interest gauge. A sign up thread will follow if there is enough interest.

well you gotta give everyone some details like:

1. How long should each clip be?

2. What style of rock? Progressive? Punk? Emo ? Scremo? What?

3. What type genres? action? shoujo? etc?

4. Is there restriction on what can and can not be submitted? Like no excessive violence or nudity?

5. What's the deadline for the videos?

6. What encoding do you want the videos in? MPEG? AVI? WMV (HA)? QT?

you know, stuff like that.

@Strider_Black: Did you possibly reply to the wrong thread? It's an interest gauge. Exact details like deadline, format, how to submit and so on will follow in the sign up thread if there is enough interest to start this project. And your reply is a simple copy and paste from another thread, some points you request are already adressed, for example

If you don't understand this, it means songs from Queen involving him as well as songs from his solo albums.

Does the song have to be performed by him, or can it be a cover of one of his songs?

I'd be interested since I have an idea, but I'm not sure if I can make a full video of it.
Having trouble playing back videos? I recommend: Image

So I must go a little bit deeper in the planned guidelines. The song has to fullfill one of the following criteria:
1) The song is performed by him.
2) He has composed the song.
3) He has written the text.
So if the cover song meets criteria 2) or 3) (or both), it's ok. (Of course, I would prefer originals :D )

You don't have to edit the full song. I'm planning of making some kind of meddley, consisting of pieces of 1 minute +/- X.

If this actually goes down, I'd like to take part in it ... I'm a big Queen fan, and Freddie is one of my musical idols so this is definitely something I'd wanna do

x2

I think it depends on what exactly is involved.
Being a long-time Queen fan, of course, I can't just say "no" right away. :)

Seems enough interest to start this project soon.

I'll set the rules that no anime (as well as no song) can be overused. So stay alert for the offical thread, 'cause it'll be "First come, first serve".

Interesting... if I can find a way to edit on this computer, I may very well go for this.
