For those who don't know what Motown is, a history is visible here:
Wikipedia Article on Motown
The basic idea comes from previous projects like the DDR projects and a CD I was given last year by an artist named Michael McDonald, who believe it or not is a white guy who can sing Motown, and he sings it well! The songs on the two CD set are covers of Motown songs from the 1960s and 70s, and while with a few bits of political commentary are primarily romantic, ranging from only a piano for accompaniment to unbeat gospel style. I'll post a link to a small sample of music once it's ready.
Edit 1 Rough Mix with only a few songs, not the final product
Edit 2 Song times are not limited to the above listed, it depends on the number involved and video content.
Edit 3 Not only Michael McDonald can be included. Original songs are allowed if audio quality is good.
Edit 4 Rough track list and those possibly interested in particular songs, subject to change, negotiation, etc:
Signed Seal Delivered I'm Yours: Stevie Wonder *Stolen Soul*
You're all I need to get by: Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell
Ain't Nothing like the Real Thing: Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell
Second that Emotion: The Miracles
Stop, Look, Listen to your Heart: The Stylistics
Mercy Mercy Me: Marvin Gaye
Since I lost my Baby: The Temptations
I want You: Marvin Gaye
Reflections: The Supremes *AthenAltena, me* (this was the song that inspired the idea for the project)
How Sweet is it to be Loved by you: Marvin Gaye
Anime used would be primarily romantic based, but it has potential for branching out into other genres. At the moment it looks like tracks would be about a minute to a minute and a half.
I can be reached by email at bara922@yahoo.com and on MSN messenger under the same address. I'm also occasionally on YIM, but try MSN first.
I think this would be a fun project and homage to a very influential music style. I'd be interested to hear if anyone would like to participate and ideas they may have. Thanks!
