Name: Vash the Stampede
Track: #67
Artist/Song: Nine Inch Nails - Head Like a Hole
Anime: Trigun

The problem is that Trigun can't be IVTC'd, and IIRC, deinterlacing and decimating 5 frames looks bad...I'll try it tonight though and get back to you about it

I'll just update the site with everything but the anime, unless you've figured out some way of doing it with Trigun or want to change tracks, if that's fine by you. In any case, let me know.

Ok. Well, go ahead and start on it. Right now I'm having problems logging into Angelfire, so the site may not be updated right away.

Katrina and the Waves - Walking On Sunshine
Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me
Aerosmith - Dude Looks Like A Lady

These are the 3 I'm interrested in. Would I have to use the file from your site or would I be allowed to use my own rips?

Also, would I be allowed to play with the in and out points a bit? Walking on Sunshine comes in at an odd spot. If you have a plan on how to blend it from that spot into the segment before it I'd like to hear it. I could plan things better that way.

If I make my vid in the usual 29fps, would you be able to convert it? Every time I try to save a vid in 23fps it stutters.

The ones on the site are solely to edit with. Higher resolution MP3s are available if requested. Unless (I'll explain below)...

Also, would I be allowed to play with the in and out points a bit? Walking on Sunshine comes in at an odd spot. If you have a plan on how to blend it from that spot into the segment before it I'd like to hear it. I could plan things better that way.

Part of the reason I made the cuts where they are is because the transitions will vary a bit; in some sections I'm planning on it resembling someone fast-forwarding the tape machine (this would be the case for Walking On Sunshine, in both directions), so in some cases it might be a bit abrupt (or at least I'd have the ability to cut it if it was a bit *too* abrupt; some of the spots where tracks come in strangely may get cut closer to the core of the track so it's not as sudden). If you can take that particular part of Walking On Sunshine and make sure that the segment is less than 1:30, than I suppose it would be okay, but just make sure you send me the original uncompressed wave (the segment itself, not the entire song).

If I make my vid in the usual 29fps, would you be able to convert it? Every time I try to save a vid in 23fps it stutters.

I can convert it down, but I can't guarantee it'll be smooth (or good-looking; if it can't be decimated correctly and remain smooth, I'd be forced to frame-blend). You'd probably be better off doing the framerate conversions yourself before you edit (do you have a problem exporting 23fps video if the footage you're using is that framerate as well?), but if you have no other option, then I can handle it.

Those aside, Walking On Sunshine is your first choice, right?

Can I ask why it has to be 23fps? :?

There's several reasons. It's explained as a basis here:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... video2.htm

My decision to specify 23.976 is the compression advantage (because of the estimated final length of this project it's gonna need every advantage it can get), with the ease of DVD distribution of the project (and just simply setting TMPG to encode it in 3:2 pulldown mode) coming in a close second. There's probably other reasons, but I can't recall them at the moment (if there are any).

If your editing program can't export in 23.976 (Premiere 6.5, for example, exports in 23.98), AVISynth can be used to adjust the framerate easily. I'm leaving that decision up to the individual editors as I'll be checking each segment and adjusting from 23.98 to 23.976 myself if needed. Slowing it down by that fraction doesn't affect much, unlike converting from 29.97 to 23.976, which can potentially look horrible (this is the explanation in the guides - granted, it's referring to PAL source, but the method is the same and can look just as bad).

Yep. I can't figure it out either. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

Yup yup. :) I've already done a vid to that song and I've been looking for an excuse to remake it with dif anime and more FX. (The first version was one o' my earlier vids)

Is it set on a 24fps timebase? I don't have Premiere in front of me at the moment (and it takes way too long to load on my comp as it is to just casually pull it up), but the only thing I can think of are possibly timebase differences.

I have secured a dedicated FTP server to use for previews (and previews only). Check the group (or the group e-mail, if you got it) for more info.

Can the betas be in 29fps? I'm just wondering just in case I have to do some changes when I start editing.

It's alright if the betas are in 29fps.
