::listening to Umaro theme::

....hmmm...this could be hard..... I must perservere. I just really hope someone in the BYU anime club has Totoro on DVD.

If all else fails, I have it on DVD back home. HOWEVER, its a Japanese DVD my host mother gave to me when I was in Japan. Iknow there are explanations for this, but to make things short, will I still be able to edit with it?

Depends. If your DVD-ROM drive isn't set to Region 2, you either have to get one that is, or set it to Region 2. Note that, however, you have very few amount of times you're able to set it. If you're not sure what I'm talking about when I mention regions, PM me and I'll inform ya. I'd do it now in this post, but I'm at school and don't want to be the last student to hold up the teacher to leave. :P

If you can, you could get the US release of Totoro at a rental store; it'd most likely be under the Childrens or Kids section. If not, try the Anime section if the store has one.

I know about regions and such. So even if its region 2, it won't cause any problems with Smartripper or Premiere (and all the programs in between)?

If your DVD drive is set to region 2, it'll be fine. If there's any special instructions for ripping region 2 discs, I don't know them.

Actually don't worry about Region setting for ripping R2's. I switched my region to watch my R2's, but to rip I was still in R1. In fact, I was ripping Totoro, Nausicaa and other Miyzaki DVDs for my own video and so I'm pretty confident DVD Decryptor will work regardless.

::listening to Gogo theme:: Hey Mav, do you intend to use Kanoko for Gogo? You could have lots of fun with any anime char with that song ^_^ (the song sounds like a "pervert/stalker song- plenty of those in anime)

I'll try to get right on Umaro's theme. Any "scheduled" completion date?

Cool beans.

As for completion of tracks, we're looking at the end of November. December if necessary, but I'd rather have it sooner than later.

goo

So when was this project started? I'm getting the sense that this began awhile ago, and then it was put off, and then recently started up again (at which time I became really lucky in acquiring the Umaro track).

The original thread for this was made back in March of 2003. :shock:

fight for your life

Postby Radman » Thu Oct 28, 2004 9:42 am

At BYU, UT-ah it IS an Unreal Tournament. Only its not guns we're fighting with and its not aliens we're fighting against 8-) ....

Considering the progress I made in one hour, I could be done in a day or two with my video.

So everyone else out there, just sit down and DO the video! And to those of you have done your part, kudos all the way :P
