Hmmmm. I'm not sure, mainly because I prefer the late 70s disco over the 80s stuff (even though it was the 80s stuff I grew up on). I think "Feels Like I'm In Love" by Kelly Marie started this transition from the 70s funky disco to the 80s electronica one and I'm not sure it was a good thing
I'll look into potential songs and have a think about it.

Same here..when I think of disco, I really think more of the 70's and not the 80's. The 80's for me were groups like Wham! and Culture Club, Pet Shop Boys and Tears For Fears..Samantha Fox and Tiffany.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:Hmmmm. Disco to me would be The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, KC & The Sunshine Band, The Village People..
I'd definatly be interested depending on the music choices.

hmm... perhaps I should include 70s aswell? Like a meadly of 70s and 80s disco beats, or would that clash?
Edit: So I guess the concensus is: 70s, 80s, or both?
I'll be taking into consideration everything noted in this thread for starting the actual project.
Also If your good at remixing songs, in case we take that route contact me :p I am novice at that at best, and I want this project to rock ^^

I don't know alot of 70s songs, so I could use your help there ^^AbsoluteDestiny wrote:That's hard to say - but when it comes down to it, it's your project. Maybe posting a list of possible songs for people to consider might be useful. If you dont get enough feedback then perhaps that would be the time to expand.
As far as 80s songs go, I did search a bit, and this was the only one I realy liked that was from the 80s, But I'm opening it up for others to post song suggestions aswell.
My dad is a fan of 70s music though, so I will check with him on any possible songs to use aswell and update the thread acordingly.

Here are a few remixes I downloaded last night...
Old School Rap Mix
http://www.randomvariable.net/~mexicanj ... ap_Mix.mp3
80's Hair Band Megamix
http://www.randomvariable.net/~mexicanj ... egamix.mp3
80's Breakdance/Funk Megamix
http://www.randomvariable.net/~mexicanj ... ce_Mix.mp3
I'm partial to the funk/breakdance mix because it has tons of great songs in it like Grooveline, Whip It (not the Devo one), Freakazoid, Super Freak,
Freak Out, etc... Also, the funk mix is about 15 minutes, so more available segments for possible editors.

Ok I think I like the idea of using Mexican Junior's 80's Breakdance/Funk Megamix for the project, It fits 100% with the original idea I had for this project, (The other 2 ones MJ selected don't realy fit with my original disco/funk theme) has alot more selection for people to consider editing too, Easier to break up the tracks, (Probably each song will be a track) and has alot of great songs from the 80s in it ^^ I had forgotten about some of these songs, silly me. It also eliminates the need to mix our own project mix. It seems like the best choice to me. What do you guys think?
