Short AMVs for Short People: Ressurection

Post by Garylisk » Mon Oct 04, 2004 11:47 pm

Back from the dead with a little help from my fiancee's donatiopn of her webspace, The Project that Wouldn't Die is back.

The new website is http://www.draconicdesigns.com/samv/

More info will be posted on the mailing list, which is linked from that page.

Now, the project has the following upgrades:

1. More quality restrictions. This means better lookin' videos.
2. A central and very fast server for running an FTP that you all can upload you finished videos to, as well as to keep the website on.
3. A final tracklist (Coming soon)
4. A deadline (Probably May 2005!)
5. ALL THE MP3 TRACKS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE (In a secret place that will be told to you on a need-to-know basis.)

Join now and make a short video! They're fun to make, fun to watch, and punky-licious. :)

To all interested parties, I will now repost what I just posted on the mailing list:

Okay, we're back in business, this time I promise.

Read this:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=40846

Then check this:
Here's some info per track as far as what I've recieved.

THE FOLLOWING 3 TRACKS ARE NOTY ACCEPTABLE, AND THUS, WILL NOT BE
INCLUDED IN THE FINAL PROJECT. THESE TRACKS ARE NOW ONCE AGAIN OPEN
FOR YOU TO CLAIM AS YOUR OWN. The track listing page is NOT updated
to show this yet, but will be soon!!

40 - Triple Track (Mobikev)
53 - John for the Working Man (Mobikev)
55 - It's a Real-Time Thing (Mobikev)

The following tracks are really borderline as far as quality of
editing and video, so if you wanna do them, go ahead. If you don't,
these tracks will be left in the project as-is. I would prefer them
be redone.

13 - Not Again (Mobikev)
28 - Ballad of Wilhelm Fink (Mobikev)

The following tracks are good, but they lack quality in some aspect...

17 - Soil Sod Etc... (Nemoxs) - Can you get me a HuffYUV or other such
quality version?
22 - Alienation (Psionic Knight) - Can you get me a higher quality
version, without your logo at the end?
26 - Bedroom Windows (Mobikev) - Can you work ont he editing synch and
maybe get it to me in high quality rather than mpeg1, which is no
longer accepted as a format for submission?
31 - Randall Gets Drunk (Mobikev) - Same as above
32 - Fishfuck (Brian Moore) - THe video rocks, the quality is
horrible. Can you maybe remake it using DVD source, or filter it
somehow... cuz it's really grainy.
45 - Hand Grenades (Mobikev) - Any way you could get me a high qual vers?
100 - NY Ranger (Mobikev) - Same as above
70 I hate your fucking guts (Pwolf) - If possible, I'd like a HuffYUV
or MPEG2 of this, but it's not absolutely necessary.
90 - Staggering (LastPole) - Same as above. Also without the bumper
screen.

Apart form those tracks, what's submitted so far is all good.

If you look at the track listing page on the website, and don't see
your name listed on a track that you've done, that means I DON'T HAVE
YOUR TRACK!!! You need to get it to me!

If you don't see you rname next to a track you claimed but haven't
finished yet, ou will need to re-request it if you still want it.

THat's all for now. Please get in touch with me soon.. those who
don't are gonna be removed from the mailing list.

It's cleanup time.... heh heh heh....

dude, your list is still really outdated. If you compare it to my own list you'll see that you're missing a bunch of completed videos. This might just be that you don't have the huffyuv versions, but two of my own videos are unaccounted for and I know I've sent in all my huffyuv.

Some of the missing videos include: 18, 40, 51, 53, 55, 69, 71, 84, 87, 92, and 98.

I did tracks 46, 71 and 98, but apparently you only have 46. If you need me to resend 71 & 98, I still have the huffyuv files backed up. Hit me up on AIM under the name "mankosukiamvs" so you can give me the new FTP info.

Also, I'd like to request tracks 16 & 72.

See? I said right out that if there's finished tracks that are not listed, that means I don't have them, and they will need to be sent to me.

New editors, please onte that if a track you requested was previously done by someone, and they get it to me, the original editor is going to get the spot on the main project. However, if we make a DVD, there WILL be an extras section with alternate tracks.

Anyway, that's the explaination for that.

Yah, check the website. there's a members link that says FTP INFO

I'll email you the username and password for the link.. then the link will take you to a page with special instructions.. cuz it's kinda weird.
