Since my AMV plate has become one solo project lighter today, I'm gonna have to seriously start thinking about what I'm going to do for this project's credits. The trick is to strike a balance between the extravagant idea I have in my head and the time/abilities that I am able to commit... hmm...

Meanwhile, we should also see if we can find somebody to fill the spot that previously belonged to BMA.

00:00, 01:53 - Otohiko - completed
01:53, 02:56 - pen-pen, part 1 - in progress
02:56, 04:45 - pen-pen, part 2* - in progress
04:45, 06:29 - VACANT (previously BMA's)
06:29, 06:49 - VACANT (character profile)
06:49, 07:28 - VACANT (character profile)
07:28, 07:46 - Kalium - completed
07:46, 08:14 - VACANT (transition into Song's segment) - I might be able to take on this part
08:14, 10:07 - Songbird - completed
10:07, 10:52 - VACANT (epic melody section) - Oto?
10:52, 12:49 - Coffee - completed
12:49, 14:32 - Bum - completed
14:32, 15:48 - jasper - completed
15:48, 16:45 - jasper and Pen-pen - in progress

* the last part of this section (04:12 to 04:45) is a sort of interlude or transition. I'm not sure if Pen-pen plans to edit this himself, since he's already coming out from a pretty long segment of thematic consistency.

** if you have already submitted a lossless file to Pen-pen, post so that I can highlight those segments as well.

So yeah, the good news is that the vacant spots are really short. The bad news is...

... argh I can't think. Going to bed now. xP

As I have also finished my latest solo project, I'll be taking either BMA's old segment or the first character profile. The only thing thats slowing me down now is lack of an anime to work with. I wanted to go with something I haven't worked with before, however I have some old standbys to fall back on. The next time I post I hope to have a new beta. At the very least I'll have a definate segment to work with.

It's Alive!

But seriously, I'm sorry I've been so incomunicado, I'll try to stay in touch more from now on. I'm glad that you guys are still thinking about stuff, I promise I'll be a better coordinator that I have in the past couple of weeks.

Getting down to buisness:

Coffee 54, I just got your latest and I especially like the girl dancing around the plane, the static-monotone effect, and the reaction shot type effect. Good fun video. I would encourage you to take on BMA's section as that would be more useful as far as finishing the project (small sections are easy to fill and quick to edit.) But of course it's up to you, whatever you have the inspiration for.

Song, I have no problem with you releasing your segment to the Narutofan community, especially since they will probably not be interested in the final project. I would request that you not release it here yet since this project is much more interconnected than Animasia, but in the end it's your call.

ANOUNCEMENT: I have decided to officially drop my segment at the begining of the video. I'm not happy with my beta work and it's just not flowing for me. Instead I will try to do something nice for one of the mini-segments, and concentrate on leading this project and making the end credits and transitions.

Soon I will post an updated track listing.

As of now, I know that I will at least fill in the short transitional space between Kalium's and Song's tracks. Kalium, do you think you can send me a Huffy of your track? I think I'll be using Lodoss as well, so I want to make the transition as seamless as possible. It would make things easier for me if I could just stick your part at the beginning of my timeline.

I propose this arrangement for the beginning of the project:

00:00, 02:12 - Oto's intro
02:12, 02:56 - short transition from Nature theme into Journey theme
02:56, 04:12 - journey theme
04:12, 04:45 - another theme, addressed briefly as this is a short track

I'm interested in taking the middle two, as in 2:12 to 4:12. I still believe that the "Journey" idea can work. If I do this part, I'd probably go with Twelve Kingdoms, Shamanic Princess, or a mix of both.

Also, I will most likely be able to rope krzT into doing something for this project. First we've got to make sure we know who's taking up which vacant parts though.

I'm considering doing the "02:56, 04:12 - journey theme" to Kino's Journeys. Jasper also brought up the idea of using twelve kingdoms, wich would also work, but I think Kinos journeys will be easier to work with ;p I'll think on it and let you guys know if I want to take over that part from Pen-Pen.

If anybody's wondering why Bakadeshi suddenly popped up, we were talking about this project over AIM and he expressed some interest in joining up. So I thought "yey, less work for me" and hinted toward that journey section. :P So yeah, Bakadeshi and Pen-pen, let us know.

Anyway, more potential recruitment ensues. :D

Now waiting for Oto's post...

You sure had to wait long >___>

Neat idea! I'm all for it, Bakadeshi.

--------

Alright, here comes the breakdown:

1) My current segment.

-Firstly - Pen-Pen, I take it you want the thing in original, unresized DVD-ish* format? There's a big difference in filesize if it's scaled down a little, but your call.
*"ish" because, as you recall, the original DVD of this is widescreen and I had to zoom, crop and resize the hell out of my footage while working with it. This could explain a few minor graphical glitches; I'm working on them though.

-Secondly, the expansion to 2:12 - as I agreed with Jasper, I'll reconstruct the later parts of my segment closer to what they were originally, and then change the wake-up to a more 'natural' environment (let her wake up under a tree!)

-Thirdly, I plan to touch-up the second half of my segment a bit, just to improve the sync and make it a bit more dynamic visually (you know, with all the new tricks I've learned lately). For that, I'll have to reconstruct parts of my project, as I successfully got rid of the project files x__x
This is actually at the very bottom of my to-do list at the moment.

2) New segments.

Ok, I officially want to express interest in the entire beginning up to 2:56 and the "Epic Melody" section

From 2:12 to 2:56, we've agreed on a more nature-oriented theme. I think I should have no problem covering this with a bit of Arjuna (in a somewhat more character-neutral way than the beginning, though), and introducing compatible bits from elsewhere. The key is to try and have a gradual transition, without oversaturating Arjuna on there... I'll have to think of it more.

"Epic melody" I'm a little more vague on. Since it goes between two character-oriented drama type segments, and is fairly brief, I propose it as an "asswind" segment (you remember that definition I hope). Again, I think it should be a little more character-neutral and visually-outward. I have some very general visual ideas of it, but I'll think of it more. The guitar solo is bound to be a challenge.

I'll get into more detail with it as I go along. This week is gonna be a bit tough for me, but I'll be thinking of it in terms of possible footage. No rush at the moment; it seems we all still have plenty to do before the project is done :)

Honestly, I've lost all interest in this project. Partly because my life isnt that great at the moment. However I got my new broadband modem today. So soon as I do a huffy render I'l ysi it. One problem. It's 25 fps and being PAL doesnt conform to this projects resolution. Whats the best way to fix this (other than making avs files of the source, seting the fps and resolution. that would mean I'd have to do slight edits to just about every clip to keep it in sync)

You already have the whole thing deinterlaced, right? In that case, you could make a AVS of the huffy export, then use that to decimate some frames and change the resolution. If you don't feel like doing that, then upload it as it is and I'll grab the ysi and make the changes. Or Pen-pen can do it. :P It shouldn't be hard at all.

There's something else I'd like to talk to you about concerning your track, so I'll be contacting you the next time I see you online. In any case, good luck, and I hope your life gets a bit better.

Oto, I think your idea of her waking up under a tree is excelent, I never really liked that clip anyways. I think your idea for extending the section is solid but do try to distinguish them somehow. As for the epic melody that one can be more abstract but I'd still like to see some structure. One idea I was toying with was to make it a simple good versus evil theme with the first part being the introduction of the noble hero and the second caotic part being the battle with evil. Personally I'd like to see some sort of "epic" type imagry, but whatever you have in mind is fine.

****
Jasper or Bakadeshi (or both), Whoever is doing that section, I would like some filler material going back to 2:45. There is a long crossfade and I might want to do an extremely gradual transistion there. Keep us updated with ideas and such, I'm curious as to what your going to do with that section.

****
I've decided to nab my favorite charicter profile. Possibilities include Texnolyze, Ghost in the shell 2, and Blood the last vampire. (obviously i'm going for something very visual, lots of overlays and high energy scenes.)

Hi all! After some forum lurking [haha and prodding by jasper of course xP], I've realized that those vacant spaces aren't going to fill themselves. I would really love to join the project, if you all were willing to have me, and perhaps it'll relieve some of the duties left until the completion of the project? :o

After listening to the song over again, I decided I really liked the track beginning at 4:12 (running to 4:45), and I've kind of got a general idea of what I would do with it. From the DVD footage I have available, I think I could make this segment work with R.O.D. (TV) as a pseudo character profile on Anita; mainly focusing on her growing maturity through the series. This is only a general idea though, especially since I haven't gotten much of an opportunity to think about it. Again, I'd love to join the project, so if there's anything I can help with, please let me know!

Bah. pen-pen, I tried to get in touch with you weeks ago about possibly filling in, but now I've probably only got a week left with computer and I'm filling in for another MEP. :?

Well that's frustrating. Well, I'm going to be a lot more reachable now so let me know if anything changes.

Jasper I'm starting to agree with you on the whole 2d/3d thing for the credits. I'm going to switch back to AE and see if I can get some faux-3d going.

I've been rewatching Kinos journeys, and I think I can make my idea work for that part, so I'm going to try it. you can put me on the track list for the journey part.
