I am now the poud owner of a functional new computer. No more multiple locations for files, stuck on a laptop away from home, limited space, etc.

In case anyone cares:

SuSE Linux 10.0
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ dual core CPU
ATI Radeon x800 XL
10GB RAID0, 15GB RAID1, 250GB SATA HDD
DVD+/- Burner, ABIT A8N Motherboard
more fans, lights, and gauges than you can shake a stick at.

Of course done is a relative term. I may be using it to write this post but it still has a mess of wires spewing out of where one of the side panels will eventually go.

Linux is supprisingly user-freindly untill it's not. Meaning you want to do something that they havn't designed a nice pretty GUI for, or a new program requires you to compile the source code before installation. Still, I'm stuborn as a mule and I'm actually leaning my way around the comand line.

Sorry for the exposition. The upshot is that project files can now easily be stored on a redundant disk array, so even a HDD failiure won't erase the data.

I'm going to concentrate on getting the audio back online. I'm probably going to split the remaining areas into segments to make it easier and post an MP3 of the whole section so you won't have to download any huge WAV files.

I'll update again soon, and when I do I may have a suprise...

That's how they were way back when. Piecing them together is left an exercise for the reader.

I hate having to give up on something when other people are working hard on it. It goes against my work ethic. But no matter what I put on a timeline, I can't make myself satisfied with this. I don't know if it's a lack of skill per se so much as a lack of patience with it and a desire to edit other things. I really wanted to do something nice, it DESERVES something nice. But I come up for a loss every time I start editing it, and putting it on hold for so long has actually made it worse rather than better. Sorry....

Sorry to hear BMA. i know how you feel, but I forced myself with my track. Though it amy not be up to the "pro" standards of some of the vids here, I'm happy in knowing that it shows my current level of skill. I havent heard your track but if its on the slower side I could throw around something good reasonably fast. Sorry, that didnt realy help much did it?

As for my track, I've got all the vob sources on my comp and just about ready to export a final huffy. I'm just gona take a final look at the feedback of beta's I've bein given and start fine tuning. 2 weeks till college starts again, hopefully I'm done by then.

Sounds good, It's nice to return to a project after awhile and see it in a new light. Don't be afraid to play around with things, you might suprise yourself. When your ready just give it the final go over for flow and timing and such and export to huffy.

Oto, now would be a good time to upload your huffy as well.

I am too. As a matter of fact I was actually source hunting for this project a couple days ago. I found a few probables, but I still need more info. Right now, however, my hard drive is all full-up with DVD rips for another video that should have been done weeks ago.

I think I need some stabbing too.

*dies* I wanna release my segment....Any chance this'll be done soon? If not, could I have permission to at least post my segment on the Narutofan forums?

You may have to try contacting fearless leader directly via email or pm, if you haven't already. I haven't seen him online in a while.

Song, I haven't been able to get in touch with Pen-pen for a while, but I'm pretty sure he won't mind if you post your segment for the NarutoFan community only.

Since my AMV plate has become one solo project lighter today, I'm gonna have to seriously start thinking about what I'm going to do for this project's credits. The trick is to strike a balance between the extravagant idea I have in my head and the time/abilities that I am able to commit... hmm...

Meanwhile, we should also see if we can find somebody to fill the spot that previously belonged to BMA.

Sorry for going into control freak mode again, but I was taking an inventory for myself and thought that I might post the results...

00:00, 01:53 - Otohiko - completed
01:53, 02:56 - pen-pen, part 1 - in progress
02:56, 04:45 - pen-pen, part 2* - in progress
04:45, 06:29 - VACANT (previously BMA's)
06:29, 06:49 - VACANT (character profile)
06:49, 07:28 - VACANT (character profile)
07:28, 07:46 - Kalium - completed
07:46, 08:14 - VACANT (transition into Song's segment) - I might be able to take on this part
08:14, 10:07 - Songbird - completed
10:07, 10:52 - VACANT (epic melody section) - Oto?
10:52, 12:49 - Coffee - completed
12:49, 14:32 - Bum - completed
14:32, 15:48 - jasper - completed
15:48, 16:45 - jasper and Pen-pen - in progress

* the last part of this section (04:12 to 04:45) is a sort of interlude or transition. I'm not sure if Pen-pen plans to edit this himself, since he's already coming out from a pretty long segment of thematic consistency.

** if you have already submitted a lossless file to Pen-pen, post so that I can highlight those segments as well.

So yeah, the good news is that the vacant spots are really short. The bad news is...

... argh I can't think. Going to bed now. xP
