Whoa.

Very, very impressive. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to see from this project in terms of sync and flow. Actually, I wondered how well Kaleido Star would work when you first picked it, but I have to say the visuals really worked out great. Since I've seen the series, I guess this makes a lot of sense to me thematically though I wonder if it will be as clear to those who haven't.

Anyways, great first impression. I'll see if I pick up anything of the nit-pick variety, but so far I think this is very promising. Makes me wish I could get fast visuals like that to work half this well in mine

Argh, job hunting sucks but I'm back from school and ready to bring this project into it's final stages. I have started working on the journey section so there is very little on our timeline that isn't in the production proccess.

I am using "Princess Mononoke" and focusing on the idea of traveling or journeying. With some careful manipulation I think Can expand the idea of him wandering and make it look like he goes to more places then he actually does. I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out the progression of events (Start the video in the village, or do a flashback later when the music pickes up?) but I should have a beta up within a few days.

Jasper-Isis: I'll get that critiqe to you by tommorow.

Ironic def.

When you have an abundance of footage you thought was going to be scarse but your plan for that footage isn't working out very well.

I'm still working because I think it still has the potential to turn out well and I do have more footage than I thought, however it's very frustrating right now trying to get the framework layed out on the timeline. Hopefully one I get the basic structure down things will start working out a bit better.

This project seems to be stalling a little bit. Fourtionatly we have enough of it done or in final beta stages that we don't have to worry about it falling apart. But the realease might be pushed back if things don't go well. In all liklyhood though things will pick back up once the second wave of videos gets to the beta stage.

Empty spots on the timeline are starting to concern me though, I don't want to keep people waiting too long who have finished segments. I'll check with the people who expressed intrest in it earlier.

That's all for now.

Guys - you maybe happy to know that I finally installed Premiere today after 6 months - and none of my project files seem to have been corrupted :)

I'll give it a looking-over in the next couple of days, keeping the earlier suggestions in mind. Maybe coming into it with a fresh mind, I can re-do those scenes that stumped me last time I tried.

Back to AMVing for me, and soon! :D

Oh - and Pen-Pen - don't worry too much yet. Definitely check in with the 'other people'. If there's problems and gaps, and I do indeed make an efficient AMV comeback - I'd be glad to do another track when I'm done this, provided I can get ideas and footage.

I should have a new beta today or tomorrow, I hope. Currently cleaning up the little pictures early on and re-doing some of the action stuff :)

If anyone has anything particular nitpick to note - other than what's already been said when I first released it - now would be the time!

I dont want to say anything about my part because I'm afraind I'l jinx it or something. Octavarium (new DT album) is great. Tiesto drowns out the pain better than anything els. Freinds blessed with cable who arent tight asses rock.

You won't jinx it. Sorry I hadn't commented on it in time -

It's on the right track as far as editing. I'll admit I missed some subtleties due to the harsh compression of it all.
What I'm most concerned about is, well, there's a notable contrast between the early part of the track and the later part where the solo starts going - I think you should try to follow that with more visual contrast. That is, there doesn't seem to be a big thematic shift where there's a musical shift.
Or so my first impression tells me....

Anyway, I'm surprised I'm saying this - but I'm actually starting to enjoy the editing process! (I thought the day would never come). Had a very long, very satisfying editing session today. This will probably be the most work I put into a video by the time I'm done :)

I've looked over and fixed up practically everything in the video. Should be much tighter as far as editing now, at least - not that I don't expect more nitpicking on it soon :)

Rendering beta now, will upload it sometime after midnight local (5+ hours)

That's always a good sign. :D

I know I'll still be up at that time, so be sure to include me in your first round of PM's. :P

NITPICKERS WANTED!

Alright, first round of PM's out (to Pen-Pen, Coffee54 and Jasper, who seem to be most active - if the rest of you would like it - mention it and out it'll go :) )

I've actually found more than a half-dozen things in this one that I don't like, starting with the wrong resolution (no big deal - just to explain why some shots look a bit off) and bad contrast on some of the scenes - not to mention the other stuff. I'm sure it'll get picked up on... See if you can spot these.

I think a couple of more betas and it'll be in the right condition!

Oh boy, I just watched it and I'm itching to comment on it right now. But asdasdfsjdfal;k I'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow night because I have a major math exam in the morning to cram for. xP

OT: hehe, isn't it funny how the Animasia banners are kinda taking over this page? xP

GO! YOUR EDUCATION IS CLEARLY MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY VIDEO SEGMENT :P

good luck and such... ehehe

We'll all be soon assimilated. When Rose finishes.

Also OT: while waiting for the beta to send, I accidentally stumbled into the remains of videos I'll never finish, and forgot I ever even attempted (during my almost-year-long non-AMVing). If anyone ever wants to see these strange relics - PM me or something.

****

Will wait for the feedback. I hope to have this wrapped up fairly soon; then perhaps we can start looking into what's happening with the other tracks and whether I could pitch in something else...

Mind making a nice, crapy looking 512k wmv for me oto, seeing as anything els owuld take more time to dl than I could bare.

Oh and, I'm listening to octavarium (the song, from the album) right now. Bloody amazing piece (all 24 minutes of it). I know its way too early to start talking about this now, but anyone wana consider it for a sort of follow-up to porjeckt life?
