Bum: just wondering, did you ever see my comments on your beta a few pages back?

Right now it looks like the deadline will be sometime this summer when I have access to a computer powerful enough to compile everything. I'm going to start asking around now and see about a AWA showing, but as of yet I don't know if I will be able to arrange it.

Though it's starting to look iffy, I still aim to release a full beta sometime during this upcoming week. Gotta set these deadlines for myself or I'll never get anything done, hah.

Bum: I seem to have misplaced your beta, could you send a current one? As for editors block I would encorage everyone in the project to take a look at it and offer suggestions. This is a group effort afterall.

Song: My only concern is with it being a little to out there in terms of seemingly magical abilities. Tell me how you are thinking of doing it.

Kalium: I'm missing your beta too. Send one my way when you get a chance.

Trust me. Contrary to what most people think, this ain't no magical girl series. There's some incredible battles and a fair amount of blood. (There's Mai Hime death toll lists on websites for a reason.) In fact, one of the girls exclusively uses a giant sword. I would make my segment along the same lines I was planning for Naruto. At least let me try. If you don't like it I'll redo it with Naruto.

By the way. Am I doing the whole thematic break or has someone taken over for Toji?

Ok, I'm back, my ISP was updating my connection so I was down all day yesterday.

Penpen: I'm just finishing up another video right now, but I can probably start playing with betas while I do that. If you could cut the wave for the 10:08 part at the start of the organ section (if you haven't already) I'll get those from you. I'll play around with each, and if I can get the 11:00-12:50 going well, I'll settle on that.

Song: I havn't actually seen the series, so if you think it will work then go for it. As for the segment I'm going to give it a few days to see if anyone really wants it but after that it's all yours.

Coffee54: I'll put the wavs in the FTP folder, see if you can connect to that.

If you're looking for the WAV files, Kalium has them up here.

Somebody gave me the Liquid Tension Experiments 2 album today, and wow, the rest of the songs really are just as good this one. :D

Sweet, thanks. With this I should be able to split my section without risking desinkrenosation, disincranozation, desyncronisation. I can't spell by the way.

Jasper - yeah, I read it. Thanks for the comments. I dont have much problem geting things to sync well. Its keeping that sence of narative thats chalenging me, and I'm stating to resort to effects to help the sync, but its mostly transitions for now.

PenPen- lemme get another 10 or so seconds doen and I'l upload a beta somewhere.

Bum: looking forward to it.

Kalium: Thanks.

Coffe54: I've been restarting a lot to try to fix a computer hardware problem (which I finnally got rid of by disabling advanced hardware acceleration) so the FTP has been down more then usual. It is on a laptop so it's not constantly active but it's on most of the time so you might just have to check back.

Jasper-Isis: A full length beta? Why'd you have to tell me about that? Now I'm all curiuos. Yeah, there's a lot of good stuff. I actually tried my hand at some action editing using the first song.

All: If you are having trouble connecting to my FTP just upload to Kaliums server and I can get it from there. By the time were ready for the final HQ versions I'll have a reliable way to get them.

Kalium: I just noticed that the cuts in the last three or so seconds were a bit off-synch. Like for example, the shot of the clashing swords came in a little late. Can you check that section over?

I got a beta for you guys! Except... I wasn't able to cover the whole song like I wanted to. There are two very sizable holes in the timeline, but I can fill them in soon enough. The entire track is about 60% done. I just wanted to get this out there, maybe give some of you more motivation to work on this project more.

Link [9.3MB] It'll remain on yousendit's servers until next Friday, as I uploaded it two days ago.

The storyboarding goes as follows:

0:00 - dreams, aspirations
0:12 - early stumbles*
0:20 - up, up, up
0:30 - success!
0:36 - fall from grace
0:41 - determined, slowly working up*
0:48 - setbacks*
0:52 - big setbacks, pain/angst/depression*
0:58 - revival!
1:05 - the final stretch

The sections marked with *s are the ones that I have yet to edit. Basically I made all the happy parts first, so now I have to fill in all the sad parts. :P

I still have a little bit of work to do on the parts that are already there - they're cut, but not polished. I feel that there are some beats that simple cuts and motion are not powerful enough to emphasize, so I need to add some more sparkle to those beats. Don't worry, they won't be of the seizure-inducing type. :P

Let me know what you think!

I really, really, liked it. Very happy. As a matter of fact, without any of the sad parts, too happy. Which means once their added it should flow very nicely indeed. The final stretch also needs some polish. I imagine those black holes in it are going to be filled with something or changed out or whatever.
